ABSTRACT This study demonstrates that weak magnetic fields (16–40 mT) increase the efficiency of the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) in electrocatalysts based on non‐fullerene acceptor (NFA) derivatives IT‐4Cl and Y6. Electrochemical measurements reveal that the application of the magnetic field reduces the onset potential and increases the current ...

Star Formation in Molecular Clouds [PDF]
We examine how star formation occurs in the Galaxy and come to the following conclusions. (1) The distribution of newly-born stars in the Galaxy depends on the origin of giant-molecular-cloud complexes. For individual complexes, we favor the mechanism of Parker's instability behind galactic shocks.

Herschel/HIFI observations of molecular lines toward G10.47+0.03
We present a spectral line analysis of the hot molecular core G10.47 + 0.03 (hereafter, G10). Our aim is to determine molecular abundances and excitation conditions across a wide spectral range inaccessible to ground-based observatories.

The formation of molecular hydrogen in the interstellar medium
H2 is the most abundant molecule in the interstellar medium and forms on the surface of interstellar dust grains. Laboratory studies have been conducted of HD formation on a dust grain analogue, which is a highly-oriented pyrolytic graphite surface ...

A Survey of Interlayer Interaction Models for Graphene and Other 2D Materials
Van der Waals interactions arising from electronic polarization at atomically close interfaces generate corrugated interlayer energy landscapes that govern normal and tangential tractions. This review presents an overview of quantum, atomistic, analytical, and continuum modeling approaches, highlighting their roles across length scales in capturing ...

Synchrotron radiation from molecular clouds
Observations of the properties of dense molecular clouds are critical in understanding the process of star-formation. One of the most important, but least understood, is the role of the magnetic fields. We discuss the possibility of using high-resolution,

BioEISense is a microfluidic device with integrated impedance sensors, for real‐time, label‐free monitoring of S. aureus biofilms. In this study, the biofilm culture conditions were optimized to support sensitive and reproducible detection of biofilm formation and eradication under dynamic flow‐through conditions. The system was also validated for both

The study considers the use of polymer/dielectric‐based multilayers piezoelectric Energy Harvesters (EH) to produce an output voltage and current, by exploiting the mechanical energy provided by human organs movements. In particular, the heart motion is considered from the kinematic viewpoint, and a multiphysics theoretical model is developed to assess
