Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Endoscopic ultrasound-guided biopsy for TB lymphadenopathy: role of PCR and Gene X-pert
Tuberculous lymphadenopathy presents a challenging diagnostic scenario, particularly in regions with high tuberculosis (TB) prevalence. Abdominal TB accounts for 10% of extrapulmonary TB cases.

Companion Diagnostics (CDx) Based on Molecular Biology Techniques
Molecular profiling based on genomic mutations provides clinically important diagnostic and prognostic information. Companion diagnostic (CDx) testing, which is based on targeted drug therapy, is being applied to a variety of molecular diagnostic techniques (e.g., fluorescent in situ hybridization—FISH; polymerase chain reaction—PCR; and next ...

Mass spectrometry based identification of AMP‐O‐Tris generated by Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10
Isolated Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10 generates the noncanonical ATP‐derived product AMP‐O‐Tris while in Tris‐containing buffer as identified via mass spectrometry, revealing relaxed nucleophile selectivity under isolated conditions. These findings suggest that multiprotein Csm complex assembly restricts Cas10 reactivity toward canonical cyclic ...

Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.

Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.

[Molecular diagnostic techniques in gynaecologic cancer].
Our understanding of the genetic basis of gynaecologic cancer has increased. Still this is a major cause of death. Based on a review of the literature, we present molecular diagnostic tools no available for the prevention and characterisation of cancers in the ovaries, uterus and cervix. The presentation is based on a limited literature search in PubMed,

A novel signature integrating genome‐wide analysis with clinical factors predicts recurrence in stage II colorectal cancer and enables a new risk stratification to guide postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy. Clinical risk stratification for postoperative recurrence in patients with pathological stage II (pStage II) colorectal cancer (CRC) is essential ...
