Molecular Identification of a Mechanosensitive Channel in Archaea [PDF]

open access: yesBiophysical Journal, 2001
The TM1 domain of the large conductance mechanosensitive (MS) channel of Escherichia coli was used as a genetic probe to search the genomic database of the archaeon Methanoccoccus jannashii for MscL homologs. We report that the hypothetical protein MJ0170 of M. jannashii exhibited 38.5% sequence identity with the TM1 domain of Eco-MscL.

Determination of barbiturates in hair samples by using a validated UHPLC-HRMS method: application in investigation of drug-facilitated sexual assault

open access: yesForensic Sciences Research, 2019
In recent years, benzodiazepines and benzodiazepine-like drugs are the most common substances associated with drug-facilitated sexual assaults (DFSA); however, barbiturates are also detected occasionally.

Berberine Facilitates Extinction of Drug-Associated Behavior and Inhibits Reinstatement of Drug Seeking

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2020
A high rate of relapse is a major clinical problem among drug-addicted individuals. Persistent traces of drug-associated reward memories contribute to intense craving and often trigger relapse.

Zinc chloride-catalyzed cyclizative 1,2-rearrangement enables facile access to morpholinones bearing aza-quaternary carbons

open access: yesCommunications Chemistry, 2023
Morpholines and morpholinones are important building blocks in organic synthesis and pharmacophores in medicinal chemistry, however, C3-disubstituted morpholines/morpholinones are extremely difficult to access.

Molecular identification of fungi

open access: yes, 2016
Fungi play pivotal ecological roles as mycorrhizal partners of plants, saprotrophs, and agents of disease. In early identification studies of fungi, both the mitochondrial rDNA and the Internal Transcribed Spacer (ITS) region, Small Subunit (SSU), and ...
