Detection of methylotrophic bacteria in natural samples by molecular probing techniques

Chemosphere, 1993
Abstract To allow a full understanding of the global methane cycle, the contribution made by microbes as a sink for methane must be investigated. Many methane-oxidizing bacteria present in environmental samples are not easily cultured by using normal microbiological techniques, leading to an underestimate of the numbers of such bacteria in the marine

Characterization of Nonlinear Molecular Dynamics Using The Double Pump Probe Technique

Frontiers in Optics 2008/Laser Science XXIV/Plasmonics and Metamaterials/Optical Fabrication and Testing, 2008
We performed double pump-probe experiments to study the intra-molecular dynamics of several nonlinear organic dye molecules. The method allows for characterization of triplet states yield and cross-section. Several special cases of molecular dynamics are presented.

The application of the molecular probes gas‐chromatographic technique to the study of polypropylene transitions

Die Makromolekulare Chemie, 1974
AbstractBy means of molecular probes gas‐chromatographic technique we have investigated the first and second order transitions of three stereoisomeric polypropylenes: isotactic, syndiotactic, atactic. The choice of the molecular probe for the detection of the first order transition is not particularly difficult.

Molecular contrast in optical coherence tomography using a pump-probe technique

SPIE Proceedings, 2003
Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is an emerging tool for real time in-situ tissue imaging with micrometer-scale resolution. Real-time OCT systems have been integrated into clinical medical diagnostics, and functional extensions such as polarization-sensitive, Doppler, and spectroscopic OCT have recently been introduced.

The delineation of ionic pathways in organic coatings using a molecular probe technique

Progress in Organic Coatings, 2003
Abstract The mode with which ions enter organic coatings when subjected to corrosive environments remains unresolved. Local electrochemical methods have provided insight into the local nature of the underfilm degradation process. But these local electrochemical methods have not provided conclusive evidence as to whether the transport of water and ...

Short Wavelength Inner Filter Technique (SWIFT) in Designing Reactive Fluorescent Molecular Probes

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2019
Here, we present a conceptually novel and experimentally straightforward technique for selective analyte detection that uses a combination of commercial fluorophores and simple chemicals. The technique utilizes the well-known inner filter effect (IFE); however, the fluorophore's excitation is performed at wavelengths significantly shorter than its ...

Probing the interaction of anthraquinone with DNA by spectroscopy, molecular modeling and cancer cell imaging technique

Chemico-Biological Interactions, 2015
A new anthraquinone derivative, (E)-2-(1-(4,5-dihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)-tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yloxyimino)ethyl)-1,4-dihydroxyanthracene-9,10-dione (AODGlc), was synthesized and its binding properties towards DNA were explored under physiological conditions by fluorescence spectroscopy, DNA melting as well as docking techniques.
