Evaluation of Cell-Free DNA Long Fragments in the Triage of FIT+ Patients Enrolled in a Colorectal Cancer Screening Program: An Italian Prospective, Cross-Sectional Study

open access: yesJournal of Molecular Pathology
Introduction: Colorectal cancer screening programs are effective in reducing incidence and mortality. In Europe, every FIT+ patient is referred to colonoscopy. The available data show that ~75.0% of these patients are negative.

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Molecular modelling study of the 3D structure of the biglycan core protein, using homology modelling techniques

open access: yes, 2013
Herein we report the establishment of the 3D structure of the biglycan core protein, using conventional homology molecular modelling techniques. The 3D model has been structurally optimised via molecular dynamics.

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Repair Techniques for Hybrid Nano/CMOS Computational Architecture

open access: yes, 2009
—Presence of high defect rate in nanofabrics due to the inadequate fabrication processes has held back the development of emerging technology architecture. In this work, we propose two repair techniques to provide high level of defect tolerance in lookup

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...
