Molybdenum and tungsten enzymes redox properties – A brief overview
FCT/ MCTES ( UID/QUI/50006/2019 ).Metalloproteins and metal-containing enzymes are well known to be essential to life. Molybdenum and tungsten are the heaviest transition metals used by biology. The mononuclear molybdenum (and tungsten)containing enzymes

The Role of System-Specific Molecular Chaperones in the Maturation of Molybdoenzymes in Bacteria
Biogenesis of prokaryotic molybdoenzymes is a complex process with the final step representing the insertion of a matured molybdenum cofactor (Moco) into a folded apoenzyme.

Targeting the EpCAM‐AXL axis to overcome drug resistance in lung cancer
Lung cancer cells often evade therapy by hijacking signaling pathways. We reveal that cleaved EpCAM (sEpCAM) stabilizes the oncogenic protein AXL, driving NF‐κB and STAT3‐mediated chemoresistance. This EpCAM‐AXL axis identifies a high‐risk patient subset with poor prognosis.

Bond Valence Sum Parameters for Analyzing Pyranopterin Tungsten Enzyme Structures
The determination of tungsten oxidation states and W–ligand bond lengths for pyranopterin tungsten enzymes can be negatively impacted by Fourier series termination effects and photodamage/photoreduction in the X-ray beam.

Reprogramming tumor cells with LCOR mRNA nanotherapy to enhance immunotherapy
LCOR (Ligand‐dependent corepressor) mRNA encapsulated in polymeric nanoparticles restores LCOR activity in tumor cells, constraining aggressive tumor cell states and increasing tumor immunogenicity. This reprogramming makes tumor cells more vulnerable to T‐cell attack and enhances their response to immune‐checkpoint immunotherapy.

Drosophila Melanogaster as a Model for Molybdo-Flavoenzyme Mediated Protection against Chemical and Physical Stress [PDF]
Aldehyde oxidase (AO) and xanthine oxidoreductase (XOR) are molybdo-flavoenzymes (MFEs) involved in the oxidation of hundreds of endogenous and exogenous aldehydes and N-heterocyclic compounds many of which are drugs, vitamins and environmental ...

Evaluating the involvement of autolysosomes in the nuclear translocation of fluorescent proteins
Endogenously expressed fluorescent proteins can be degraded by autophagy and transported to cell nuclei via the nuclear pore complex. But in some cell lines, for example, HeLa cells which are positive for immunoreactivity of a receptor ligand, such as UCN I, in cell nuclei, fusion of autolysosome with the nuclear envelope is involved in the nuclear ...
