Critical Metals in Strategic Energy Technologies - Assessing Rare Metals as Supply-Chain Bottlenecks in Low-Carbon Energy Technologies [PDF]
Due to the rapid growth in demand for certain materials, compounded by political risks associated with the geographical concentration of the supply of them, a shortage of these materials could be a potential bottleneck to the deployment of low-carbon ...

Trap state engineering in inverted organic photodetectors (OPDs) is achieved via combined layer‐by‐layer (LbL) processing and poly(N‐vinylcarbazole) (PVK) incorporation. LbL reduces the trap density while PVK additives gradually shift trap states from shallow band‐edge to deep mid‐gap levels, tailoring the energy distribution.

The pavement performance of concrete prepared with molybdenum tailings
Molybdenum tailings (MT) are solid wastes discharged from molybdenum mines after mining and sorting. At present, accumulation is still the primary treatment method of MT, which causes great harm to the environment.

A Two-Step K-Ar Experiment on Mars: Dating the Diagenetic Formation of Jarosite from Amazonian Groundwaters [PDF]
Following K-Ar dating of a mudstone and a sandstone, a third sample has been dated by the Curiosity rover exploring Gale Crater. The Mojave 2 mudstone, which contains relatively abundant jarosite, yielded a young K-Ar bulk age of 2.57 ± 0.39 Ga (1σ ...

Lead halide perovskite nanocrystals are promising scintillators but suffer from reabsorption losses and limited compatibility with high‐Z additives. Hybridization of CsPbBr3 nanocrystals with PbBr2‐passivated HfO2 nanoparticle sensitizers, achieved during or after synthesis, produces stable composites with maintained optical quality, improved ...

Intermixing‐Driven Growth of Highly Oriented Indium Phosphide on Black Phosphorus
This study demonstrates controlled intermixing and compound formation at the In/black phosphorus (BP) interface, leading to highly oriented InP formation. Comprehensive structural and electrical analyses reveal tunable bandgap behavior governed by competing BP thinning and charge‐transfer effects, underscoring the critical role of interfacial compound ...
