Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

The moment map revisited

open access: yesJournal of Differential Geometry, 2005
In this paper, we show that the notion of moment map for the Hamiltonian action of a Lie group on a symplectic manifold is a special case of a much more general notion. In particular, we show that one can associate a moment map to a family of Hamiltonian symplectomorphisms, and we prove that its image is characterized, as in the classical case, by a ...

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Integrated correlators at strong coupling in an orbifold of N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 4 SYM

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We consider the 4d N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 2 superconformal quiver gauge theory obtained by a ℤ2 orbifold of N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 4 super Yang-Mills (SYM). By exploiting supersymmetric localization, we study the integrated correlator of two Coulomb branch

On the Lock-In Phenomena near the Transonic Buffet Onset of a Prescribed Pitching Airfoil

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The limit cycle oscillation (LCO) in the transonic buffet on the fixed supercritical airfoil OAT15A under Ma = 0.73, AoA = 3.5° and Re≈3×106, is successfully simulated by means of the Reynolds Stress Model.

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative
