Explaining (g − 2) μ with multi-TeV sleptons

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
We present a supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model in which the new physics contributions to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon can be more than an order of magnitude larger than in the minimal supersymmetric Standard Model.

EFT approach to the electron electric dipole moment at the two-loop level [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
The ACME collaboration has recently reported a new bound on the electric dipole moment (EDM) of the electron, |de| < 1.1 × 10−29 e · cm at 90% confidence level, reaching an unprecedented accuracy level. This can translate into new relevant constraints on

Mycobacterium tuberculosis sulfurtransferase SseA is activated by its neighboring gene product Rv3284

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Tuberculosis remains a global health challenge and new therapeutic targets are required. Here, we characterized SseA, a sulfurtransferase from Mycobacterium tuberculosis involved in macrophage infection, and its interaction with the newly identified protein SufEMtb that activates SseA enzymatic activity.

Theory of the solid-state physics on the turn: II. Importance of the spin-orbit coupling for 3d-ion compounds: the case of NiO

open access: yes, 2000
The orbital and spin moment of the Ni2+ ion in NiO has been calculated at 0 K to be 0.54mB and 1.99 mB respectively. Such large orbital moment, more than 20% of the total moment of 2.53 mB, proves the need for the ''unquenching'' of the orbital moment in

High-Order Moment Models of Landmark Distribution for Local Homing Navigation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
For local homing navigation, a mobile robot is supposed to return home using snapshots of the surrounding environment. It basically follows the snapshot model, comparing the home snapshot and the current view to determine the homing direction.

Targeting the MDM2‐MDM4 interaction interface reveals an otherwise therapeutically active wild‐type p53 in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigates an alternative approach to reactivating the oncosuppressor p53 in cancer. A short peptide targeting the association of the two p53 inhibitors, MDM2 and MDM4, induces an otherwise therapeutically active p53 with unique features that promote cell death and potentially reduce toxicity towards proliferating nontumor cells.

Strange Quark Magnetic Moment of the Nucleon at the Physical Point

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2017
We report a lattice QCD calculation of the strange quark contribution to the nucleon's magnetic moment and charge radius. This analysis presents the first direct determination of strange electromagnetic form factors including at the physical pion mass.

Searching for physics beyond the Standard Model through the dipole interaction

open access: yes, 2011
The magnetic dipole interaction played a central role in the development of QED, and continued in that role for the Standard Model. The muon anomalous magnetic moment has served as a benchmark for models of new physics, and the present experimental value

Chirality-driven orbital magnetic moments as a new probe for topological magnetic structures

open access: yesNature Communications, 2016
To determine the topological character of a magnetic structure, one has to rely on techniques based on spin magnetism. Here, the authors study chirality-driven orbital moment physics and propose a new experimental protocol for the identification of ...

General moment system for plasma physics based on minimum entropy principle

open access: yes, 2015
In plasma physics domain, the electrons transport can be described from kinetic and hydrodynamical models. Both methods present disadvantages and thus cannot be considered in practical computations for Inertial Confinement Fusion (ICF).
