Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Boundary controllability and observability of coupled wave equations with memory
In this article we consider the controllability for a system of coupled wave equations with memory. We reduce the control problem to a moment problem which can be solved by showing the Riesz property of the associated families of functions.

Distributionally Robust Joint Chance Constrained Problem under Moment Uncertainty
We discuss and develop the convex approximation for robust joint chance constraints under uncertainty of first- and second-order moments. Robust chance constraints are approximated by Worst-Case CVaR constraints which can be reformulated by a ...

The truncated tracial moment problem [PDF]
We present tracial analogs of the classical results of Curto and Fialkow on moment matrices. A sequence of real numbers indexed by words in non-commuting variables with values invariant under cyclic permutations of the indexes, is called a tracial ...

Bioscience students were asked for their opinions on the value and teaching of skills. 204 responded that teamwork, time management and study skills are necessary to reach University, that scientific writing, research, laboratory and presentation skills are taught effectively during their studies, while other skills are gained inherently through study ...

ABSTRACT As global populations age, cancer is increasingly becoming a leading cause of morbidity and mortality among older adults, particularly in low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs). Despite accounting for the majority of new cancer cases and deaths, older individuals remain underrepresented in cancer research, clinical guidelines, and health ...

Moments of Real, Respectively of Complex Valued Functions, Approximation and Applications
The first aim of this study is to point out new aspects of approximation theory applied to a few classes of holomorphic functions via Vitali’s theorem.

Let ν be a discrete random variable taking on nonnegative integer values and set P{ν = κ} = Pk, κ = 0, 1, hellip. Suppose that the binomial moments are finite. Frequently the problem arises under what conditions the probabilities Pk, k = 0, 1,…, can be determined uniquely by the sequence of moments Br, r = 0, 1,…, and how it can be done.

Universality in Random Moment Problems
Let $\mathcal{M}_n(E)$ denote the set of vectors of the first $n$ moments of probability measures on $E\subset\mathbb{R}$ with existing moments. The investigation of such moment spaces in high dimension has found considerable interest in the recent literature. For instance, it has been shown that a uniformly distributed moment sequence in $\mathcal M_n(
