Hydrodynamic theory of chiral angular momentum generation in metals
We present a hydrodynamic theory to describe a chiral electron system with a Weyl spin-orbit interaction on a field-theoretic basis. Evaluating the momentum flux density as a linear response to a driving electric field, we derive an equation of motion ...

Evidence for Itinerant Ferromagnetic Flat Bands Producing Large Transverse Responses
Itinerant ferromagnetic flat bands are demonstrated in GdCo5 with a high Curie temperature of 940K, a stacked honeycomb–kagome lattice, through angle‐resolved photoemission spectroscopy and magneto‐thermoelectric measurements. These topological flat bands generate large Berry curvaturte, producing gigantic anomalous Nernst effect with record‐high ...

Is Momentum Really Momentum? : International Evidence [PDF]
Novy-Marx (2010) finds that momentum is primarily driven by stock performance twelve to seven months prior to portfolio formation in the US market. We examine whether this finding holds in international stock markets.

Free-wake vortex-ring models are the simplest way of describing a uniformly loaded actuator disc consistently with the Euler equations, i.e., including the radial velocity that accompanies slipstream contraction or expansion.

Magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) using MgO tunnel barriers face challenges of high resistance‐area product and low tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR). To discover alternative materials, Literature Enhanced Ab initio Discovery (LEAD) is developed. The LEAD‐predicted materials are theoretically evaluated, showing that MTJs with dusting of ScN or TiN on ...

A Nb‐proximitized Josephson junction based on a WTe2/α‐Fe2O3 heterostructure exhibits a robust superconducting diode effect with programmable polarity. The diode direction can be trained by magnetic fields and switched by temperature cycling, revealing tunable finite‐momentum pairing states and competing superconducting states in symmetry‐broken ...

Azobenzene photoswitches translate molecular‐scale E/Z photoisomerization into macroscopic material responses and device‐level photonic functions. This Review highlights how azobenzene research has evolved from molecular photochemistry to photoalignment, mass migration, photomechanics, and heat release, ultimately enabling holography, reconfigurable ...

Essays on Time Series Momentum
The three essays in this dissertation are all related to the topic of time series momentum. In the first essay, my co-authors and I introduce a cross-asset extension of time series momentum that we call cross-asset time series momentum.

Why Is the Mechanism Underlying the Chiral‐Induced Selectivity Effect Still Challenging?
The chiral‐induced spin selectivity (CISS) effect is observed in many experimental configurations and for different materials. However, there are theoretical challenges in attempting to explain those results. A qualitative framework for explaining all the results is presented.

No inconsistency in the actuator disc momentum theory [PDF]
AbstractThe classical momentum theory for actuator discs with a constant normal load Δp addresses only the axial momentum balance. Now the radial balance is also derived, which, in the absence of a radial disc load, leads to the requirement that the integral of the static pressure along the disc centre line must be zero.
