Identification and Semiquantitation of Monensin Sodium in Liver Tissue
Abstract A bioautographic technique for the determination of monensin sodium in animal feed has been applied to chicken and beef liver tissues. The reliable limit of sensitivity is 100 ppb, but 10 ppb can be detected. This technique can be used to semiquantitate monensin in tissues by comparing the zones of inhibition of unknown test ...

The Effects of Monensin and Sodium Chloride on Broiler Performance
Abstract An anticoccidial agent, Coban-1 (monensin, 121.3 mg./kg. + roxarsone, 49.6 mg./kg.) and six graded levels of added sodium chloride (0 through 0.375%) were dietary variables in a broiler test of four weeks duration. Coban-1 did not affect the requirement for sodium chloride.
