Fundamentals and Applications of Raman‐Based Techniques for the Design and Development of Active Biomedical Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 36, Issue 43, October 24, 2024.
The potential and benefits of Raman spectroscopy as an analytical method for non‐invasive biomaterial characterization are presented. After a comprehensive description of the theoretical and practical background, the advantages of Raman spectroscopy are introduced through a selection of relevant examples from the literature.

Preparation of Dicalcium Phosphate Anhydrous (Monetite) Biological Coating on Titanium by Spray-Drying Method

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2017
Titanium and its alloys have been widely used in the manufacture of endosseous implants due to excellent biocompatibility, low elastic modulus, and good chemical stability. However, the titanium based metals are essentially bioinert materials.

Safety and Efficacy of a New Synthetic Material Based on Monetite, Silica Gel, PS-Wallastonite, and a Hydroxyapatite Calcium Deficient: A Randomized Comparative Clinic Trial

open access: yesMedicina, 2020
Background and Objectives: Maxillary bone defects related to post-extraction alveolar ridge resorption are usual. These defects may lead to failure in further surgical implant phases given the lack of bone volume to perform the dental implant.
