Monkeypox Virus Infections

open access: yes, 2006
Monkeypox is an uncommon viral zoonosis caused by the monkeypox virus (MPV), a member of the genus Orthopoxvirus. MPV is a large, complex, double-stranded DNA virus of the chordopoxvirus family. MPV is endemic in central and western Africa and is a classic zoonosis acquired through contact with infected rodents and squirrels.

The evolving epidemiology of monkeypox virus

open access: yesCytokine & Growth Factor Reviews, 2022
Monkeypox, caused by the monkeypox virus (MPXV), is a zoonotic disease endemic mainly in West and Central Africa. As of 27 September 2022, human monkeypox has occurred in more than 100 countries (mostly in non-endemic regions) and caused over 66,000 confirmed cases, which differs from previous epidemics that mainly affected African countries.

Recent Advances in Isatin–Thiazole Hybrids: Synthesis, Structural Design, and Biological Application

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 22, Issue 12, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Isatin–thiazole hybrids are considered privileged chemical scaffolds due to their broad spectrum of pharmacological properties, making them attractive candidates for drug development. As a result, isatin–thiazole derivatives have emerged as a prominent class of hybrid heterocycles and have been the focus of extensive research in recent years ...

Systematic Review of Postvaccination Ocular Adverse Events: A Comprehensive Analysis of Published Reports

open access: yesJournal of Medical Virology, Volume 97, Issue 12, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Ocular adverse events following COVID‐19 vaccination are well described; however, systematic analyses of non‐COVID antiviral vaccines remain limited. This review aimed to evaluate ocular complications associated with non‐COVID antiviral immunizations, including influenza, varicella‐zoster (VZV), human papillomavirus (HPV), and hepatitis B (HBV)
