1,3-Bis(2-chlorophenyl)thiourea: a monoclinic polymorph

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2011
The title compound, C13H10Cl2N2S, represents a monoclinic polymorph of the previously reported orthorhombic form [Ramnathan et al. (1996). Acta Cryst. C52, 134–136].

Micro-mechanics of multi-phase ferroelectric domain structures

open access: yes, 2006
High-strain piezoelectric materials are often ceramics with a complicated constitution. In particular, PZT is used with compositions near to a so-called morphotropic phase boundary, where not only different variants of the same phase (domains), but ...

Atomic Layer Deposition in Transistors and Monolithic 3D Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Transistors are fundamental building blocks of modern electronics. This review summarizes recent progress in atomic layer deposition (ALD) for the synthesis of two‐dimensional (2D) metal oxides and transition‐metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), with particular emphasis on their enabling role in monolithic three‐dimensional (M3D) integration for next ...

A Mechanistic Blueprint for Fast, High‐Yield Green Scintillators Using Conjugated Polymer–Nanocrystal Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Conjugated polymer–nanocrystal composites are investigated to develop fast, high‐yield green scintillators. The polymer F8BT enables efficient, ultrafast emission, while blends with non‐emitting HfO2 nanocrystals and luminescent CdZnS/ZnS quantum dots reveal distinct sensitization mechanisms.

Evolution of two-step structural phase transition in Fe1+dTe detected by low-temperature x-ray diffraction

open access: yes, 2012
The low-temperature crystal structure of Fe1.13Te, which exhibits an anomalous two-step magnetic transition, was clarified by the systematic x-ray diffraction measurements.

Giant Intrinsic Chirality Amplification of Aqueous Lead Halide Perovskite Nanocrystals via H‐Bond Driven Self‐Assembly Superstructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Water‐assisted monoclinic CsPbBr3 transformation strategy is applied for synthesizing aqueous CsPbBr3/CsPb2Br5 nanocrystals with superior water‐repellent and excellent optical property. Low temperature enhanced hydrogen bonding network self‐assembled CsPbBr3/CsPb2Br5 nanocrystals into asymmetric superstructures, which exhibit notable circularly ...

Electrode and Microstructure Dependence of Oxygen Diffusion in Ferroelectric Hafnium Zirconium Oxide Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Significant nanoscale oxygen diffusion coefficient variations are measured in ferroelectric hafnium zirconium oxide films with grain boundaries and electrode interfaces exhibiting values 104 times larger than the grain cores. Overall coefficients are 10X larger for films prepared with metal nitride electrodes compared to refractory metals. New insights
