Preoperative monocyte‐to‐lymphocyte ratio predicts recurrence in gastrointestinal stromal tumors

Journal of Surgical Oncology, 2018
Background and ObjectivesSeveral inflammation markers were found to have a prognostic value in cancer. We investigated the significance of preoperative white cell ratios in determining gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) outcome.MethodsClinicopathological features of patients who underwent surgery for GIST were reviewed.

The meaning of a high monocyte to lymphocyte ratio in tuberculosis

Tuberculosis, 2019
Introduction: Several studies have reported an association between a high monocyte to lymphocyte ratio (ML ratio) and tuberculosis (TB). We did not find the ML ratio to be a useful marker of TB disease, due to low sensitivity and negative predictive value for development of disease (BTS Winter Meeting 2018).

Can the monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio be another predictor of prostate cancer?

Hippocrates Medical Journal, 2023
Introduction: This study aimed to evaluate whether monocyte-lymphocyte-ratio (MLR) had a potential role as a biomarker of prostate cancer (PCa). Methods: For patients who underwent a prostate biopsy between January 1, 2017, and December 31, 2021, age, hemogram parameters, free-total PSA values, and pathology results were recorded.

P214 The monocyte to lymphocyte ratio as a biomarker for tuberculosis

Clinical studies in TB and NTM, 2018
Introduction A high ratio of monocytes to lymphocytes (ML ratio) has been associated with tuberculosis (TB) disease. The purpose of our study was to examine the veracity of this association in TB disease and determine the values found in those with latent TB infection (LTBI).

Neutrophil-to-Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR), Platelet-to-Lymphocyte Ratio (PLR) and Monocyte-to-Lymphocyte Ratio (MLR) as Biomarkers in Diagnosis Evaluation of Acute Exacerbation of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease: A Retrospective, Observational Study

International Journal of COPD
Purpose Hierarchical management is advocated in China to effectively manage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients and reduce the incidence and mortality of acute exacerbation of COPD (AE-COPD).

Diagnostic Value of Monocyte-to-Lymphocyte Ratio Against Other Biomarkers in Children With Appendicitis

Pediatric Emergency Care, 2021
Objectives This study aimed to investigate diagnostic value of monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio as a novel biomarker in children with appendicitis and to compare with other biomarkers. Methods A total of 683 children were included in this retrospective study.

Association of preoperative monocyte‐to‐lymphocyte and neutrophil‐to‐lymphocyte ratio with recurrence‐free and overall survival after resection of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (US‐NETSG)

Journal of Surgical Oncology, 2019
Preoperative systemic inflammatory response plays a crucial role in tumorigenesis, progression, and prognosis; and neutrophil, monocyte, and lymphocyte counts serve as important biomarkers.

Platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio and lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio in glaucoma: a meta-analysis.

Biomarkers in Medicine
Aim: To explore the association between two systemic inflammation markers, platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) and lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR), and glaucoma.

The clinical significance of neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio and monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio in Guillain–Barré syndrome

International Journal of Neuroscience, 2018
Purpose/Aim of the study: Guillain Barré syndrome (GBS) is a severe peripheral nervous disease that leads to muscle weakness and areflexia. We now commonly accept a synthesis that inflammation and immunity play key role in GBS pathogenesis. Many studies pointed out that neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (MLR) are ...

Monocyte-to-Lymphocyte Ratio Any Association with Metabolic Syndrome in Schizophrenia

Personalized Psychiatry and Neurology
The problem of adverse drug reactions (ADR) development in psychopharmacotherapy is one of the current issues in the treatment of patients with schizophrenia. One of the most common ADRs when taking antipsychotics is the development of metabolic syndrome. This reduces the quality of life of patients and increases the risk of premature death of patients
