We investigated why peripheral blood mononuclear cells rigorously depleted of adherent cells by sequential incubation on plastic and nylon wool remained fully responsive to both antigenic and mitogenic signals. Nylon wool nonadherent cells (NWNA) depleted of cells expressing HLA-DR by monoclonal antibody and complement lysis did not respond to tetanus ...

Bone marrow mononuclear cells were fractionated by affinity chromatography on immobilized peanut agglutinin (PNA). The resulting PNA+ fraction represented 10% of the total cell number. Twenty percent of the cells within the PNA+ compartment coexpressed the T6, Ia, Mo1, and My4 differentiation antigens and possessed Fc and C3 receptors.

SummaryBackground Histamine releasing factors (HRF) are members of the β chemokine family of cytokines and have been characterized using recombinant proteins. Mononuelcar cell and/or platelet supernatants have been shown to contain HRF and the initial void peak obtained using Mono Q anion exchange chromatography possesses such activity, as do two

The Percentage of Monocytes among “Mononuclear” Cell Fractions Obtained from Normal Human Blood
The Journal of Immunology, 1974Abstract Human peripheral blood “mononuclear” cell fractions obtained by Ficoll-Hypaque centrifugation contained 44% of cells able to phagocytose latex particles. Such cells could be removed magnetically following their incubation with iron filings. Glass wool column filtration was less effective.

Detection of malignant cells of epithelial origin in mononuclear cell fractions.
Beitrage zur Infusionstherapie und Transfusionsmedizin = Contributions to infusion therapy and transfusion medicine, 1997Qualitative and quantitative detection of contaminating malignant cells in stem cell apheresis products intended for supportive therapy after high-dose chemotherapy of sensitive solid tumors is a demanding task for the laboratory. Human breast cancer cells in differing concentrations among mononuclear cells were quantitated by multicolor flow cytometry

Mononuclear cell fraction carrying Herpesvirus saimiri in persistently infected squirrel monkeys.
Journal of the National Cancer Institute, 1977Circulating lymphocytes from squirrel monkeys persistently infected with Herpesvirus saimiri (HVS) were separated into B- and T-lymphocyte fractions by a rosette-enrichment technique. HVS was isolated only from lymphocyte fractions forming rosettes or from unseparated lymphocytes; this indicated that T-lymphocytes were the target cells for HVS in the ...

The use of bone marrow mononuclear cells (BMMNCs) as a source of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) for therapy has recently attracted the attention of researchers because BMMNCs can be easily obtained and do not require in vitro expansion before their use. This study was designed to quantify the MSC population in bone marrow (BM) samples obtained for cell ...

We studied angiogenic effects of two variants of indirect revascularization (transplantation of mononuclear fraction cells from autologous bone marrow alone or in combination with laser tunneling) after modeled ischemia of the lower limbs in rats. Doppler sonography and immunofluorescence studies showed that intramuscular implantation of isolated ...
