Nonstoichiometry and diffusivities in iron monosulphide at elevated temperatures

Corrosion Science, 1974
The equilibrium diagram of the iron monosulphide phase has been reviewed in the temperature range 670–1100°C. Thermodynamic properties of the system are derived as a function of composition. Data for the parabolic rate constant for the growth of iron monosulphide on iron are presented as a function of nonstoichiometry for relatively small values of y ...

The lattice energy and heat of formation of lithium monosulphide

Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids, 1958
Abstract A term-by-term theoretical calculation of the lattice energy of lithium monosulphide is reported. The lattice energy is computed to be U0 = 588.7 kcal/mole (0°K). This value, in conjunction with known thermodynamic data, has been used to estimate the heat of formation of the compound, ΔHƒ = −117.7 kcal / mole (298° K ) .
