Band Spectrum of Silicon Monosulphide

Nature, 1938
IN a recent paper1 on the ultra-violet band system of GeO, a survey was made of the band systems of the monoxides and monosulphides of the Group IV (b) elements which appear to be analogous to the “Fourth Positive” system (A1II→X1Σ) of CO and the well-known ultra-violet systems of CS and SiO.

The crystal and molecular structure of tetramethylthiuram monosulphide

Acta Crystallographica Section B Structural Crystallography and Crystal Chemistry, 1976
The structure of tetramethylthiuram monosulphide has been determined from 1232 independent nonzero reflexions measured on an automated single-crystal diffractometer. Crystals are monoclinic, space group P2~/c, with a= 10.170 (3), b= 7.464 (2), c= 14.092 (5) A, fl= 110.55 (2) °, Z=4.

Crystal and molecular structure of tetraphenylcyclotetraphosphine monosulphide

Journal of the Chemical Society, Dalton Transactions, 1974
Crystals of [C6H5P]4S are orthorhombic, a= 24·700(6), b= 13·508(3), c= 13·410(2)A, Z= 8, space group Pbca. The structure was solved from diffractometer data by direct methods, and refined by full-matrix least-squares methods to R 0·083 for 1475 observed reflexions.

Critical magnetic behavior of uranium monosulphide

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 1983
Abstract A detailed magnetization study has been made on ferromagnetic US near its Curie temperature. The critical exponent values γ, β and δ have been determined, and are close to those found earlier for UTe. The scaling law and then the homogeneous equation of state are exactly satisfied. We also present the tentative results of our analysis of the

Action of nucleophiles on tetramethylthiuram monosulphide

Journal of the Chemical Society, Perkin Transactions 1, 1977
The displacement of dimethyldithiocarbamate from tetramethylthiuram monosulphide by the action of various nucleophiles is reported. These observations substantiate the suggestion that an essential thiol group of aldehyde dehydrogenase reacts with tetramethylthiuram monosulphide in like manner.

Magnetization of ferromagnetic uranium monosulphide single crystals

Physica B+C, 1977
Abstract Magnetization measurements of US (T c ⋍ 175 K ) are reported as a function of temperature, magnetic field and orientation. Isofield magnetization curves in low fields taken after first cooling the crystal from above Tc in zero field to low temperature, show a peak, as well as jumps, upon subsequent heating in a field.

Photoconductivity kinetics of germanium monosulphide thin films

Thin Solid Films, 1976
Abstract The lifetime and mobility of non-equilibrium minority carriers in germanium monosulphide thin films have been investigated in the temperature range 300–400 K.

Magnetic moment distribution in uranium monosulphide

Journal of Physics C: Solid State Physics, 1972
Single crystals of cubic, ferromagnetic uranium monosulphide have been examined by polarized neutron diffraction to yield accurate measurements of the magnetic scattering in forty-three nonequivalent Bragg reflections. Together with magnetization data, these measurements show that the magnetic moment distribution in the crystal is associated primarily ...
