A new monoterpene glycoside and antibacterial monoterpene glycosides fromPaeonia suffruticosa

Archives of Pharmacal Research, 2006
Antibacterial activity-guided fractionation of the CHCI3-MeOH (1:1) extract of Paeonia suffruticosa root bark furnished three monoterpene glycosides, 6-O-vanillyoxypaeoniflorin (1), mudanpioside-H (2), and galloyl-oxypaeoniflorin (3). Of the isolated compounds, compound 1 is a new compound.

Monoterpene Alkaloids from Argylia Radiata

Natural Product Letters, 2002
Argylia radiata (L.) D. Don (Bignoniaceae) represents an important source of secondary metabolites, largely unexplored. The paper presents the isolation from the plant root of two new monoterpene alkaloids, 10-acetoxy-actinidine and 4-nor-7,8-dehydro-10-hydroxy-skytanthine, whose structures were elucidated by Mass spectrometry and 1H-NMR data.

Analysis of monoterpenes and monoterpenoids

2020
Monoterpenes and monoterpenoids represent a set of chemicals widely diffused in plants whose basic structure consists of two linked isoprene units. In addition to their abundance in plants, monoterpenes and monoterpenoids constitute approximately 90% of essential oils and demonstrate a wide diversity in their chemical structures and biological ...

Monoterpene biotransformation by Colletotrichum species

Biotechnology Letters, 2017
To investigate the biocatalytic potential of Colletotrichum acutatum and Colletotrichum nymphaeae for monoterpene biotransformation.C. acutatum and C. nymphaeae used limonene, α-pinene, β-pinene, farnesene, citronellol, linalool, geraniol, perillyl alcohol, and carveol as sole carbon and energy sources. Both species biotransformed limonene and linalool,

Aerobic biodegradation of selected monoterpenes

Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology, 1996
Batch experiments were conducted to assess the biotransformation potential of four hydrocarbon monoterpenes (d-limonene, alpha-pinene, gamma-terpinene, and terpinolene) and four alcohols (arbanol, linalool, plinol, and alpha-terpineol) under aerobic conditions at 23 degrees C.

Monoterpene glycosides from Paeonia delavayi

Fitoterapia, 2007
A new monoterpene glycoside, 4-O-methyl-4''-hydroxy-3''-methoxy-paeoniflorin (1), was isolated from the root cortex of Paeonia delavayi along with the known paeoniflorin, oxypaeoniflorin, benzoylpaeoniflorin, benzoyloxypaeoniflorin, albiflorin and a paeonilactone-A.

Glycosidic Monoterpenes fromLinaria Capraria

Natural Product Research, 2004
During our systematic study on the species of genus Linaria (Scrophulariaceae) present in Italy, we examined the glycosidic fraction of Linaria capraria Moris et De Not., a species endemic of Tuscany archipelago. This fraction is particularly complex and we considered in this article only the medium polarity components.

Monoterpene glycosides from Paeonia hybrida

Phytochemistry, 2008
Monoterpene glycosides (1-5, and 7), together with 14 known compounds, were isolated from the methanol extract of the roots of Paeonia hybrida. These compounds included a paeoniflorin-related glycoside with a hybrid structure of paeoniflorin and paeonovicinoside (1), a monoterpene glucoside biogenetically related to lactiflorin (2), a paeoniflorin ...

Secondary Plant Substances. Monoterpenes

1976
Monoterpenes occur in a variety of acyclic and cyclic structural types and derivatives (cf. Fig. 1), and represent one of the largest and most diverse families of natural products. The so-called isoprene rule was the first unified concept for a common structural relationship among terpenoid natural products (RUZICKA 1953).
