Switching of Magnetic Order via Non‐Magnetic Al Addition in FeCoNiMnAlx Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Non‐magnetic Al addition provides a sensitive handle to switch the magnetic order in high entropy FeCoNiMnAlx thin films via fcc to bcc phase transformation. Films with fcc structure exhibit a large exchange bias, while bcc films exhibit enhanced ferromagnetic properties, reflecting the magnetic ground state of Mn which switches from antiferromagnetic ...

Functions operating on several multivariate distribution functions

open access: yesDependence Modeling, 2023
Functions ff on [0,1]m{\left[0,1]}^{m} such that every composition f∘(g1,…,gm)f\circ \left({g}_{1},\ldots ,{g}_{m}) with dd-dimensional distribution functions g1,…,gm{g}_{1},\ldots ,{g}_{m} is again a distribution function, turn out to be characterized ...

On the Monotonicity of Process Number [PDF]

open access: yesElectronic Notes in Discrete Mathematics, 2013
Graph searching games involve a team of searchers that aims at capturing a fugitive in a graph. These games have been widely studied for their relationships with the tree-and the path-decomposition of graphs. In order to define de-compositions for directed graphs, similar games have been proposed in directed graphs.

Understanding and Optimizing Li Substitution in P2‐Type Sodium Layered Oxides for Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work explores Li‐substituted P2 layered oxides for Na‐ion batteries by crystallographic and electrochemical studies. The effect of lithium on superstructure orderings, on phase transitions during synthesis and electrochemical cycling and on the interplay of O‐ versus TM‐redox is revealed via various advanced techniques, including semi‐simultaneous

Weak Cyclic Monotonicity and Existence of Solutions of Differential Inclusions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The notion of weak cyclic monotonicity of set-valued maps generalizing the cyclic monotonicity is introduced. The existence of solutions of differential inclusions with compact, upper semi-continuous, not necessarily convex right-hand sides in R^n is ...

High‐Entropy Magnetism of Murunskite

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The study of murunskite (K2FeCu3S4) reveals that its magnetic and orbital order emerges in a simple I4/mmm crystal structure with complete disorder in the transition metal positions. Mixed‐valence Fe ions randomly occupy 1/4 of the tetrahedral sites, with the remaining 3/4 being filled by non‐magnetic Cu+ ions.

Scale-Based Monotonicity Analysis in Qualitative Modelling with Flat Segments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Qualitative models are often more suitable than classical quantitative models in tasks such as Model-based Diagnosis (MBD), explaining system behavior, and designing novel devices from first principles.

Ab Initio Study on 3D Anisotropic Ferroelectric Switching Mechanism and Coercive Field in HfO2 and ZrO2

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study uncovers a new switching mechanism in HfO2 and ZrO2, where the absence of a non‐polar layer along the a‐direction induces interaction between polar layers. Consequently, the switching barriers for growth are lower than those for nucleation in this direction, leading to a size‐dependent coercive field that matches experimental observations ...

Testing for monotonicity in the Hubble diagram [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
General relativistic kinematics and the cosmological principle alone imply a monotonicity constraint in the Hubble diagram, which we confront to present-day supernova data.
