Comparative Satellitomics in Arowanas (Telostei, Osteoglossiformes) Sheds Light on the Evolution of Ancient Satellite DNAs

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
This work focused on arowana fishes (Teleostei, Osteoglossiformes) as a model; their widespread intercontinental distribution and basal phylogenetic position within Teleostei make them a compelling model for evolutionary research, especially in the realm of satDNA molecular evolution. Through the integration of genomic and chromosomal data, we analyzed

Disentangling Multitrophic Interactions: How Vegetation Cover, Wild Boar, Deer, and Predators Shape Rodents Activity and Acorn Dispersal

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
Vegetation cover promotes rodent activity and acorn dispersal, while wild boars exert a direct negative effect on mice. Conversely, deer and predators displayed no significant impact on rodent behavior. These results identify wild boars as the main disruptors of rodent‐mediated forest regeneration.

“Green Developmentalism” and the Role of International Law in Negotiating the Energy Transition

open access: yesGlobal Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Policy evolutions in North American and European capitals have prompted debates about ongoing shifts in global economic governance from a primary emphasis on promoting markets to a more extensive role for the state in steering economic relations.

Acoustic indices are not useful for biodiversity research

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, EarlyView.
Abstract Biodiversity assessment using passive acoustic monitoring has historically been challenging due to the limited availability of multi‐species acoustic detectors. In this context, acoustic indices were introduced as an alternative way to represent species diversity in acoustic datasets.

Ecoacoustics for context‐rich direct and indirect trophic interaction data and ecological network construction

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, EarlyView.
Abstract Understanding species interactions is critical for ecology and conservation, yet conventional network construction methods often lack spatiotemporal resolution and important contextual information. The growing field of ecoacoustics enables remote sensing across large spatiotemporal scales and the monitoring of otherwise cryptic communities ...
