Nanocomposite Synthesis of Nanodiamond and Molybdenum Disulfide

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2019
A chemically conjugated nanodiamond (ND)/MoS2 nanocomposite was synthesized with amine-functionalized MoS2 and acyl chloride-coordinated ND. The chemical structure and morphology of the nanocomposite were characterized to examine the dispersion of MoS2 ...

Production and purification of mannan oligosaccharide with epithelial tight junction enhancing activity [PDF]

open access: yesPeerJ, 2019
Background Mannanan oligosaccharide (MOS) is well-known as effective supplement food for livestock to increase their nutrients absorption and health status, but the structure and identification of bioactive MOS remain unclear.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Determination of radiation resistance of integrated circuits with the use of low-energy X-radiation

open access: yesТехнологія та конструювання в електронній апаратурі, 2012
A method is proposed for determination of radiation dose via the ionization current in the p–n-junction and of radiation resistance of MIS integrated circuits with the use of low-energy (10–40 keV) X-rays.

Scaly MoS2/rGO Composite as an Anode Material for High-Performance Potassium-Ion Battery

open access: yesMolecules
Potassium-ion batteries (PIBs) have been widely studied owing to the abundant reserves, widespread distribution, and easy extraction of potassium (K) resources.

Performance Analysis of Strained Monolayer MoS$_{2}$ MOSFET

open access: yes, 2013
We present a computational study on the impact of tensile/compressive uniaxial ($\varepsilon_{xx}$) and biaxial ($\varepsilon_{xx}=\varepsilon_{yy}$) strain on monolayer MoS$_{2}$ NMOS and PMOS FETs.

PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Composite multi-vortex diffraction-free beams and van Hove singularities in honeycomb lattices

open access: yes, 2015
We find diffraction-free beams for graphene and MoS$_2$-type honeycomb optical lattices. The resulting composite solutions have the form of multi-vortices, with spinor topological charges ($n$, $n\pm1$).
