Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Design and Evaluation of a Pediatric Lower-Limb Exoskeleton Joint Actuator

open access: yesActuators, 2020
Lower-limb exoskeletons have undergone significant developments for aiding in the ambulation of adults with gait impairment. However, advancements in exoskeletons for the pediatric population have comparatively been lacking.

Mass estimation considering stiffness and fabrication of period measurement device in mass measurement using velocity-feedback relay control

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2021
A mass measurement system with a relay feedback of velocity has been developed to achieve measurement without gravity. In this system, mass is estimated from the periods of oscillation in the relay-feedback system.

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

A novel approach of Consensus-based Finite-time Distributed Sliding Mode Control for Stewart platform manipulators motion tracking

open access: yesResults in Engineering
The Gough-Stewart Platform, often referred to simply as the Stewart Platform, is a parallel mechanical system with six degrees of freedom, which is widely employed in simulation and precise applications. This study gives a thorough Lagrangian-based model

Reversal angle control of automotive reversal wiper by motor reversal timing control based on predicted motor angle

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2022
The reversal windshield wiper system is a system that realizes the back-and-forth motion of the arms by reversing rotation direction of the motor. In this system, the wiper motor control has to control the reversal angle to meet the regulations that ...

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...
