Single Molecule Detection of Nanomechanical Motion [PDF]
We investigate theoretically how single molecule spectroscopy techniques can be used to perform fast and high resolution displacement detection and manipulation of nanomechanical oscillators, such as singly clamped carbon nanotubes. We analyze the possibility of real time displacement detection by the luminescence signal and of displacement ...

Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...

Planar Region Detection and Motion Recovery [PDF]
This paper presents a means of segmenting planar regions from two views of a scene using point correspondences. The initial selection of groups of coplanar points is performed on the basis of conservation of two five point projective invariants (groups for which this invariant is conserved are assumed to be coplanar).

Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Motion detection and directional tuning
A random dot pattern was presented which made two jumps in various directions with a variable delay between them. The jumps occurred at the frame transitions of a 3-frame apparent motion sequence. The variation in detectability with the directional difference and the temporal separation of the jumps allows us to make inferences about directional tuning

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These
