Effects of cilostazol on the progression and regression of symptomatic intracranial artery stenosis: it reduces the risk of ischemic stroke

open access: yesNeural Regeneration Research, 2015
OBJECTIVE: To assess the efficacy and safety of cilostazol on the progression and regression of symptomatic intracranial artery stenosis. DATA RETRIVAL: We searched the main databases for eligible trials including Medline (from 1966 to June 2014), Embase

Solid propellant motor [PDF]

open access: yes, 1978
A case bonded end burning solid propellant rocket motor is described. A propellant with sufficiently low modulus to avoid chamber buckling on cooling from cure and sufficiently high elongation to sustain the stresses induced without cracking is used. The

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Variable-frequency inverter controls torque, speed, and braking in ac induction motors [PDF]

open access: yes, 1974
Dc to ac inverter provides optimum frequency and voltage to ac induction motor, in response to different motor-load and speed requirements. Inverter varies slip frequency of motor in proportion to required torque.

The cerebellum and motor dysfunction in neuropsychiatric disorders [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The cerebellum is densely interconnected with sensory-motor areas of the cerebral cortex, and in man, the great expansion of the association areas of cerebral cortex is also paralleled by an expansion of the lateral cerebellar hemispheres.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Application of Soft Magnetic Composite in XEV Motor Core Manufacturing: Process Effects and Performance Analysis

open access: yesMetals
This study explores the application of AncorLam HR (Höganäs, Sweden), a soft magnetic composite material, in the stator core of an axial flux permanent magnet drive motor.

Functional Genetic Screen to Identify Interneurons Governing Behaviorally Distinct Aspects of Drosophila Larval Motor Programs

open access: yesG3: Genes, Genomes, Genetics, 2016
Drosophila larval crawling is an attractive system to study rhythmic motor output at the level of animal behavior. Larval crawling consists of waves of muscle contractions generating forward or reverse locomotion.

Sleep quality influences subsequent motor skill acquisition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
While the influence of sleep on motor memory consolidation has been extensively investigated, its relation to initial skill acquisition is less well understood.
