This study explores the feasibility of expressing the antitumoral protein Amblyomin‐X through a suicide gene therapy approach and investigates its intracellular fate after gene delivery. Although the gene is efficiently expressed, melanoma cells rapidly degrade the Amblyomin‐X protein via proteasome activity.

A Self-Organizing Neural Model of Motor Equivalent Reaching and Tool Use by a Multijoint Arm [PDF]
This paper describes a self-organizing neural model for eye-hand coordination. Called the DIRECT model, it embodies a solution of the classical motor equivalence problem. Motor equivalence computations allow humans and other animals to flexibly employ an

Validity and Reliability of a Bilateral Assessment of Locomotor Skills in Children [PDF]
Background: There is a paucity of empirical research on motor asymmetry in healthy children using currently available assessments. Objective: This study sought to develop bilateral tests for quantitative and qualitative assessment of locomotor skills in ...

[Children and motor competence].
Recently, the topic of motor competence has figured prominently in the media. The claims made are many, but the research that support the statements is seldom cited. The aim of this review article is to address that deficiency by documenting what is really known about the motor competence of children.

Rapid screening of staphylokinase protein variants using an unpurified cell‐free expression system
An unpurified cell‐free protein synthesis (CFPS) platform enables rapid functional screening of staphylokinase variants. Direct plasminogen‐activation assays performed in microplate format provide real‐time activity readouts, allowing rapid identification and ranking of variants with improved or reduced fibrinolytic activity without protein ...

Percepções de Competência e Desenvolvimento Motor de meninos e meninas: um estudo transversal
The objectives ofthis study were to (1) determine gender and age differences for perceived physical competence and motor performance, and (2) exam the relationship between perceived physical competence and actual motor skill competence in children ...

Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

The effect of balance on the real and perceived motor competence of 7 –and 8-year-old children
The aims of the present study were to observe the values of balance, Motor Competence (MC) and Perceived Motor Competence (PMC) in pupils between 7 and 8 years of age, as well as to find out the effect of a program focused on balance work over MC, PMC ...
