A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Erythropoietin modulates hepatic inflammation, glucose homeostasis, and soluble epoxide hydrolase and epoxides in high‐fat diet‐induced obese mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Erythropoietin administration suppresses hepatic soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH) expression, leading to increased CYP‐derived epoxides. This is associated with a shift in hepatic macrophage polarization characterized by reduced M1 markers and increased M2 markers, along with reduced hepatic inflammation, suppressed hepatic lipogenesis, and attenuated ...

Affinity Coefficient for Clustering Autoregressive Moving Average Models

open access: yesComputational and Mathematical Methods
In various fields, such as economics, finance, bioinformatics, geology, and medicine, namely, in the cases of electroencephalogram, electrocardiogram, and biotechnology, cluster analysis of time series is necessary. The first step in cluster applications

Stability Monitoring of Batch Processes with Iterative Learning Control

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematical Physics, 2017
In recent years, the iterative learning control (ILC) is widely used in batch processes to improve the quality of the products. Stability is a preoccupation of batch processes when the ILC is applied.

Complete Convergence for Moving Average Processes under

open access: yes
The m-widely orthant dependent (m-WOD) sequences are very weak dependent random variables. In the paper, the authors investigate the moving average processes, which is generated by m-WOD random variables.

Low-frequency estimation of continuous-time moving average Lévy processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper we study the problem of statistical inference for a continuoustime moving average Lévy process of the form Zt=∫ℝκ(t-s)dLs, t∈ℝ with a deterministic kernel κ and a Lévy process L. Especially the estimation of the Lévy measure v of L from

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Asymptotic Growth of Sample Paths of Tempered Fractional Brownian Motions, with Statistical Applications to Vasicek-Type Models

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
Tempered fractional Brownian motion (TFBM) and tempered fractional Brownian motion of the second kind (TFBMII) modify the power-law kernel in the moving average representation of fractional Brownian motion by introducing exponential tempering.

On Complete Moment Convergence of Weighted Sums for Arrays of Rowwise Negatively Associated Random Variables

open access: yesJournal of Probability and Statistics, 2012
The complete moment convergence of weighted sums for arrays of rowwise negatively associated random variables is investigated. Some sufficient conditions for complete moment convergence of weighted sums for arrays of rowwise negatively associated random ...

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.
