A comparative study between price-driven and mechanistic moving averages using causal analysis on bitcoin historical data

open access: yesРадіоелектронні і комп'ютерні системи
The subject of this study is the comparative analysis of price-driven and mechanistic moving averages applied to Bitcoin volume and price data, using causal analysis to assess profitability and accuracy in historical records.

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Lévy driven moving averages and semimartingales

open access: yes, 2009
The aim of the present paper is to study the semimartingale property of continuous time moving averages driven by Lévy processes. We provide necessary and sufficient conditions on the kernel for the moving average to be a semimartingale in the natural ...

Practical Alternatives for Forecasting Corn and Soybean Basis in the Eastern Corn Belt throughout the Crop-Marketing Year

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural and Resource Economics, 2019
This paper re-evaluates practical methods of forecasting corn and soybean basis in the eastern Corn Belt. The accuracy of forecast methods differs over the course of the crop-marketing year.

Exponentially weighted moving average—Moving average charts for monitoring the process mean

open access: yesPLOS ONE, 2020
This research aimed to propose a newly-mixed control chart called the Exponentially Weighted Moving Average-Moving Average Chart (EWMA-MA) to detect the mean change in a process underlying symmetric and asymmetric distributions. The performance of the proposed control chart are compared with Shewhart, MA, EWMA, MA-EWMA and EWMA-MA control charts by ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

On moving averages

open access: yes, 2013
We show that the moving arithmetic average is closely connected to a Gauss–Seidel type fixed point method studied by Bauschke, Wang and Wylie, and which was ob-served to converge only numerically.

Estimation of LD50 by moving averages [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Hygiene, 1952
Methods of graduation of a series of observations by means of moving averages were discussed by Sheppard (1914), and subsequently by Sherriff (1920) and a number of other writers. These methods based on least squares or weighted least squares solutions differ from actuarial or summation methods.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.
