Hyperglycemia‐Induced Microglial CTSS Disrupts Blood‐Retinal Barrier Integrity via PAR2‐Dependent Downregulation of Endothelial MFSD2A

Hyperglycemia induces retinal microglial activation and CTSS upregulation, disrupting microglia‐endothelial crosstalk via PAR2‐dependent MFSD2A suppression. Abnormal activation of microglia amplifies retinal inflammatory cascade, enhances transcytosis, compromises BRB integrity, and accelerates DR progression.
