花粉症は東洋医学的にみると肺経・大腸経の異状と捉えた筆者は, 関経諸穴に施灸し, 昭和61年より治療を継続してきた。今回は, 花粉症の症状が花粉飛散数の増減により, どのように変化したかを検討した。更に鼻根部皮膚温の面からも検討した。対象は杉花粉症患者10名で, 施灸部位は大椎及び左右上肢の肺経・大腸経から反応点を1つ選び3か所とした。その結果, 灸療法を行なった花粉症患者は花粉飛散数が多い日においても症状が安定しており, 施灸が症状を抑えるのに有効であった。花粉症患者の血管拡張性に起こってくる鼻閉に対して鼻根部皮膚温を指標にした場合, 施灸が鼻閉の改善に有効であった。
