Haploid Mutation Mapping Identifies a Homoeologous Non‐Reciprocal Translocation Linked to Reduced Fibre and Enhanced Protein in Brassica napus

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 24, Issue 5, Page 3219-3243, May 2026.
ABSTRACT A key challenge for the genetic improvement of canola (Brassica napus), one of the world's most important oilseeds, is the limited natural variation for commercially important traits. The creation of new variation is hindered by the lack of functional knowledge about genes controlling these traits.

Prefrontal Cortical Asymmetry and Motor Slowing in Older Women: EEG Evidence That Fear of Falling Modulates Emotional Valence and Reaction Time

open access: yesPsychogeriatrics, Volume 26, Issue 3, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim To investigate the relationship between cortical activation and motor performance in older women with different levels of fear of falling (FoF) and fall history. Methods Fifty‐five participants were evaluated, including 40 older adults divided into four groups (NotFall‐LFoF, NotFall‐HFoF, Fall‐LFoF, Fall‐HFoF) and 15 younger controls ...

A Distinct Population of Mitochondrial miRNA in Human Male Skeletal Muscle Assessed Before and After Exercise

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 8, 30 April 2026.
Here, we report that mitochondria from human skeletal muscle contain a select population of 127 microRNAs, including hsa‐miR‐146b‐5p whose expression tended to be altered in the hours following a single bout of endurance exercise. These findings suggest that mitochondria‐localized miRNAs may play a role in mediating the beneficial adaptive responses to
