TGF-β1 mRNA expression in clinical breast cancer and its relationship to ER mRNA expression

Eighty nine primary breast cancers were investigated for the expression of TGF-beta 1 and ER mRNA using PCR of reverse transcribed RNA. PCR products were validated using Southern blots and hybridization with radiolabelled cDNA probes. It has been previously demonstrated that members of the neurotrophin family may prevent death of motoneurones following axotomy. Here we report that the expression of mRNA for full-length trkB, which is a signal transducing receptor for BDNF and NT-4, increases transiently in spinal motoneurones after axotomy in adult rats.

Circadian expression of pineal 5-lipoxygenase mRNA
