Evaluation of the Prevalence of Mucous Retention Pseudocyst and its Correlation with the Associated Risk Factors Using Panoramic Radiography and Cone-Beam Computed Tomography

open access: yesFrontiers in Dentistry, 2018
Objectives: Mucous retention pseudocyst (MRP) of the maxillary sinus is an incidental finding on radiographs. The radiographs taken for dental purposes provide an opportunity for dentists to recognize asymptomatic maxillary sinus anomalies.

Tumor‐Resident Microbiota‐Based Risk Model Predicts Neoadjuvant Therapy Response of Locally Advanced Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma Patients

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Few predictive biomarkers exist for identifying patients who may benefit from neoadjuvant therapy (NAT). The intratumoral microbial composition is comprehensively profiled to predict the efficacy and prognosis of patients with esophageal squamous cell ...

The competitive interplay of 12‐oxophytodienoic acid (OPDA), protein thiols, and glutathione

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
12‐Oxophytodienoic acid (OPDA) is a phytohormone involved in plant growth and stress defense. Due to its cyclopentenone moiety, OPDA can form Michael adducts with thiol‐containing compounds such as glutathione and cysteine residues of proteins, resulting in alterations of the cellular redox regulatory network.

Systemic, Lifestyle and Environmental Modifying Factors in the Pathogenesis of Periodontitis

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.
A variety of impacting factors in the pathogenesis of periodontitis exist, including systemic, lifestyle, and environmental factors. This review highlights the manifold mechanistic aspects of the link between the pathogenesis of periodontitis, addressing these numerous factors to supplement the long‐standing knowledge of the progression of the disease.

Comparison of Human and Canine P‐Glycoprotein Substrates at R, P, and H Binding Sites

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Pharmacology and Therapeutics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT P‐glycoprotein (P‐gp) greatly impacts substrate drug disposition, so much so that regulatory agencies recommend ascertaining the P‐gp status of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) intended for human use. Arguably, the P‐gp status of drugs intended for canine patients is equally, if not more, important.

Wild boar feeding habits before versus after wolf recolonization

open access: yesJournal of Zoology, EarlyView.
By analyzing wild boar diet before and after wolf recolonization in a Mediterranean coastal area, we evaluated whether the return of wolves facilitated feeding on deer carcasses by wild boar. While deer hair was never reported in samples of wild boar feces in 1991–1994, we found it in c.

Analyzing Non‐Random Selectivity in Online Job Advertisements Using Eurostat Benchmark Data and Generalized Sample Selection Models: An Application to EU Regional Labor Markets

open access: yesLABOUR, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The present paper provides an overall framework to afford the problem of non‐representativeness and non‐random selectivity arising from online job ads data, using Generalized sample selection models and Eurostat benchmark data. We jointly model the outcome intensity (number of online job ads in observed profiles, whose levels are defined by ...

Overexpression of a Tonoplast Malate Transporter Gene Leads to Enhanced Anthocyanin Biosynthesis in Apple

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Anthocyanins, a group of secondary metabolites synthesised in the phenylpropanoid pathway, largely determine the peel colour of fleshy fruits, but it is not known if their synthesis is linked to vacuolar malate accumulation that underlies fruit acidity.
