Abstract Cyanotoxins such as microcystin (MC), cylindrospermopsin, and saxitoxin are secondary metabolites that are rich in nitrogen (N). Most cyanobacteria grow best on reduced inorganic N (ammonium, NH4), but when NH4 is absent, cyanobacteria can activate physiological pathways to process other N forms (e.g., nitrate; NO3).

ABSTRACT The present paper provides an overall framework to afford the problem of non‐representativeness and non‐random selectivity arising from online job ads data, using Generalized sample selection models and Eurostat benchmark data. We jointly model the outcome intensity (number of online job ads in observed profiles, whose levels are defined by ...

ACR3 as a Key Regulator Antimicrobial Lipopeptide Synthesis and Efflux in Bacillus velezensis HN‐1
Lipopeptides are natural antibiotics produced by Bacillus velezensis. Mutation of acr3 led to the complete loss of antimicrobial activity. Following the biological assays for validation, we found ACR3 protein may serve as a master switch of lipopeptides synthesis regulation, and control transmembrane transport of lipopeptides by the ABC pathway ...

Significance Statement Life on Earth depends on photosynthetic CO2 fixation via the Calvin–Benson–Bassham cycle to form organic carbon. This process evolved first in cyanobacteria and was later conveyed to eukaryotes, giving rise to plastids in algae and plants. To cope with low atmospheric CO2 concentrations that developed over the course of evolution,

Abstract Circulating cell‐free DNA (cfDNA), circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) and inflammatory cytokines have prognostic and predictive value in oncology. However, the effects of acute exercise on cfDNA levels are unknown. Here, we explore the kinetics of cfDNA, ctDNA and cytokines upon an incremental exercise test in a pilot cohort of cancer patients ...
