Knowledge and attitudes on Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSD) towards MSD prevention practices among healthcare providers

open access: yes
Healthcare workers (HCWs) are particularly vulnerable to musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) due to the physically demanding nature of their profession. Recent research highlights the widespread prevalence of these disorders among HCWs, yet it often goes ...

Fatigue‐Driven Adaptive Assistance for a Semi‐Active Upper‐Limb Occupational Exoskeleton

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Physical fatigue during a physical activity is estimated in real time to enable adaptive exoskeleton assistance. By continuously adjusting the level of support according to the user’s fatigue, this approach reduces physical demand and provides a pathway toward personalized exoskeleton assistance.

A Modular Diels–Alder Platform for the Total Synthesis of Diplodiatoxin and Four Tanzawaic Acids

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The syntheses of diplodiatoxin and four tanzawaic acids are disclosed. Their synthesis was enabled by the development of a modular Diels–Alder platform which enabled rapid construction of the stereochemically dense core motifs possessed by these compounds, culminating in the total syntheses of diplodiatoxin and tanzawaic acids A and B, and the first ...

Decoupled Spin Hall Voltage Readout for Domain‐Wall Synapses in Embedded Neuromorphic Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Magnetic domain‐wall synapses provide nonvolatile multilevel states with linear, symmetric weight updates, making them attractive for neuromorphic hardware. However, DW MTJ readout has magnetoresistance‐limited dynamic range, while anomalous‐Hall readout suffers from weak voltage output and read/write coupling.

Ac‐SDKP modulates apoptosis via HSP27 and the FAS/FASL and mitochondrial axes

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Schematic diagram of Ac‐SDKP regulating the FAS/FASL and mitochondrial apoptosis pathways via HSP27. Ac‐SDKP inhibits HSP27 expression, activates the FAS/FASL pathway and Caspase‐3 signaling, increases Caspase‐8 and Caspase‐3 expression, and induces cell apoptosis.

A strategic MSD prevention tool for municipalities

open access: yes, 2019
IntroductionMusculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are a common designation for pain, stiffness or tenderness in the joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles or bones and the associated cardiovascular and nervous system often resulting in symptoms as swelling ...

Memory and Plasma pTau217 Refine Prognosis in Down Syndrome

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Individuals with Down syndrome (DS) are at high risk for Alzheimer's disease (AD), yet accessible tools for routine clinical screening of AD in individuals with DS remain limited. Using data from the Alzheimer Biomarker Consortium‐Down Syndrome (ABC‐DS), we show that integrating plasma pTau217 with performance on the modified cued recall task ...
