Nighttime Midlatitude E‐F Coupling in Geomagnetic Conjugate Ionospheres: A Double Thin Shell Model and a Multi‐Source Data Investigation [PDF]
Geomagnetic conjugate mid-latitude nighttime ionospheres are frequently simultaneously populated with electrified nighttime medium-scale traveling ionospheric disturbances (MSTIDs).

Periodic waves in the lower thermosphere observed by OI630 nm airglow images [PDF]
Periodic wave structures in the thermosphere have been observed at São João do Cariri (geographic coordinates: 36.5° W, 7.4° S; geomagnetic coordinates based on IGRF model to 2015: 35.8° E, 0.48° N) from September 2000 to November 2010 using OI630.0 ...

Abstract Medium‐Scale Traveling Ionospheric Disturbances (MSTIDs) have long been a subject of interest in ionospheric research. However, their spatiotemporal variability across regions, local times, seasons, and solar cycles is very complicated and remains not well established.

Assessment of the Generation of Traveling Ionospheric Disturbances by Solar Terminators
Abstract The generation of traveling ionospheric disturbances (TIDs) near solar terminators has been predicted, and several studies have reported the detection of TIDs associated with sunrise. However, there are also observations that do not show TID signatures at sunrise.

Multi-TID detection and characterization in a dense Global Navigation Satellite System receiver network [PDF]
The medium-scale traveling ionospheric disturbances (MSTIDs) constitute the most frequent ionospheric wave signatures. We propose a method for detecting the number of simultaneous MSTIDs from a time series of high-pass-filtered Vertical Total Electron ...

Untersuchung regionaler Störungen in der Ionosphäre über Afrika (IRIA)
The Earth’s upper atmosphere – a part of it, the ionosphere- is a dynamic partly ionized region with temporal and spatial variations under different phases of solar activity.

Abstract Accurate modeling of traveling ionospheric disturbances (TIDs) is essential for characterizing their spatiotemporal variations and mitigating their effects on Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) precise positioning. This study develops a regional medium‐scale TID (MSTID) propagation model using BeiDou geostationary orbit (GEO) total ...

Freshly Generated Super Sunrise Plasma Bubbles During the Geomagnetic Storm on November 5–6, 2023
Abstract During the geomagnetic storm on November 5–6, 2023, freshly generated super sunrise equatorial plasma bubbles (EPBs) and associated irregularities over the 80°–140°E sector were observed combining ground‐based and space observations from GNSS, ionosondes, HF Doppler records, and several satellite missions (COSMIC2, Swarm, and DMSP).

Abstract Using data from a cluster of ground‐based global navigation satellite system, we observed spatially extended enhanced ROTI over the European longitudes during a weak geomagnetic storm (Dst ≈ ${\approx} $ −50 nT) on 4 November 2023. The enhanced ROTI is extended over an extensive geographical latitudinal range of 46°N.
