Effect of MTAD on Flexural Strength and Modulus of Elasticity of Dentin
Journal of Endodontics, 2003The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of MTAD on the flexural strength and modulus of elasticity of dentin. Dentin bars were randomly assigned to eight groups treated with various concentrations of NaOCl (5.25%, 2.65%, 1.31%, 0.66%), 17% EDTA, MTAD, saline, or according to a clinical protocol with 1.3% NaOCl and then 5 min of MTAD ...

Analysis of magnetometer and EMI data for the MTADS program
1998 IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems Proceedings. IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence (Cat. No.98CH36228), 2002The multisensor towed array detection system (MTADS) provides the capability for rapid, efficient detection of buried unexploded ordnance (UXO). The system consists of two arrays of sensors, total-field magnetometers and time-domain, pulsed-induction sensors, coupled to an extremely precise GPS location system Data collected in the field are ...

Effect of MTAD on Postoperative Discomfort: A Randomized Clinical Trial
Journal of Endodontics, 2005The purpose of this study was to compare levels of postoperative discomfort after cleaning and shaping of root canals using two protocols for removal of smear layer. Seventy-three consecutive patients requiring root canal treatment were included. At random, canals were cleaned and shaped with one of the following protocols.

The Effect of MTAD on the Coronal Leakage of Obturated Root Canals
Journal of Endodontics, 2004The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of smear-layer removal using MTAD on coronal leakage of obturated root canals using a dye-leakage test. Fifty, extracted, single-rooted, human teeth were cleaned and shaped and divided into 5 equal groups of 10 each. The smear layer in groups 1 to 3 was left intact.

Evaluation of Cytotoxicity of MTAD Using the MTT-Tetrazolium Method
Journal of Endodontics, 2003Previous studies have shown that MTAD (a mixture of a tetracycline isomer, an acid, and a detergent) is an effective antibacterial irrigant as a final rinse to remove the smear layer from the instrumented surface of root canals. In this investigation we examined the cytotoxicity of MTAD compared with that of commonly used irrigants and medications ...

An Evaluation of Microbial Leakage After Using MTAD as a Final Irrigation
Journal of Endodontics, 2007Cleaning the root canal is not possible without using proper irrigation. The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the effect of MTAD as a final irrigant on bacterial leakage of the root canal, and its interaction with two conventional root canal sealers. We used 132 extracted human maxillary anterior teeth.

Airborne UXO Surveys Using the MTADS
2005Abstract : An airborne version of the MTADS vehicular towed array has been developed and demonstrated with the support of ESTCP Project 200031. The system is ideally suited to localizing burial caches of ordnance and establishing areas that are uncontaminated but also retains the capability of detecting, locating, and identifying individual ordnance ...

Dentin Demineralization When Subjected to BioPure MTAD: A Longitudinal and Quantitative Assessment
Journal of Endodontics, 2007In the present study, the demineralizing ability of BioPure MTAD (Dentsply/Tulsa, Tulsa, OK), 17% EDTA, and 5% citric acid on radicular dentin was quantitatively and longitudinally analyzed. 3 mm thick disks were obtained at the root cervical third from 9 maxillary human molars, and a standardized smear layer was produced.

Advanced MTADS Classification for Detection and Discrimination of UXO
2003Abstract : The Chemistry Division of the Naval Research Laboratory has developed the Multi-sensor Towed Array Detection System (MTADS) for the detection and classification of buried unexploded ordnance. In order to increase the discrimination ability of the system, we have developed advanced analysis algorithms for the Electromagnetic Induction (EMI ...
