The Attack and Defense Researches on the Dual‐Layer Network of Multivariable Anomaly Causes

open access: yesInternational Journal of Intelligent Systems, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Multivariate anomaly causes interpretation provides insight into the root cause of information system anomalies, identifying the direct factors that trigger anomalies and revealing potential systemic flaws. However, current research generally focuses on two directions: on the one hand, anomaly diagnosis research for nodes with high anomaly degree; on ...

Time-dependent effect of various irrigants for root canal on smear layer removal

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy and Bioallied Sciences, 2019
Background: Existence of smear layer in root canals caused by instrumentation is believed to prevent penetration of irrigating agents, thereby resulting in endodontic treatment.

Bacterial Leakage Testing in Dentistry: A Comprehensive Review on Methods, Models, and Clinical Relevance

open access: yesScientifica, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Background The marginal gap increases the rate of bacterial leakage and treatment failure; the measurement of the marginal gap is questionable. The literature revealed that when bacteria get trapped within the smear layer, they can multiply and re‐contaminate the root canal system, leading to treatment failure.

Biopure MTAD Induces DNA Damage but Not Cellular Death: An In Vitro Study [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Dentistry, 2009
ABSTRACTObjectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the capacity of BioPure MTAD to induce genetic damage in vitro. Genotoxicity was assessed by the single cell gel (comet) assay. Methods: Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells or murine fibroblasts cells were exposed to increasing final concentrations ranging from 0.1 a 10%.

Time-Dependent Effects of 5.25 % NaOCl and MTAD on the Calcium Content of Root Dentin

open access: yes, 2008
Objectives. The aim of this study is to evaluate the time-dependent effects of 5.25% NaOCl with or without subsequent MTAD (Dentsply, Tulsa Dental, OK, U.S.A.) application on the calcium content of root canal dentine. Methodology: Crowns of single-rooted

Evaluation of push-out bond strength of AH26 sealer using MTAD and combination of NaOCl and EDTA as final irrigation

open access: yesDental Research Journal, 2013
Background: During endodontic procedures, the smear layer is formed as a result of mechanical instrumentation of the canal. Combination of ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA) and sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) is widely used for removal of the smear ...

Comparative antimicrobial efficacy of herbal alternatives (Emblica officinalis, Psidium guajava), MTAD, and 2.5% sodium hypochlorite against Enterococcus faecalis: An in vitro study

open access: yesJournal of Oral Biology and Craniofacial Research, 2016
Aim: The objective of this study was to evaluate the antimicrobial efficacy of herbal alternatives (Emblica officinalis, Psidium guajava), BioPure MTAD, and 2.5% sodium hypochlorite against Enterococcus faecalis.

Comparative evaluation of the efficacy of different irrigants including MTAD under SEM

open access: yesJournal of Conservative Dentistry, 2013
During biomechanical preparation, a smear layer is formed which occludes the openings of dentinal tubules and disfavors the penetration of irrigants. Hence, such layers should be removed. It becomes more challenging when we approach the apical third of the root canal. The aim was to compare the efficacy of different irrigants including ...

Age‐related cholesterol and colorectal cancer progression: Validating squalene epoxidase for high‐risk cases

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 23, Issue 7, July 2024.
As people age, the incidence and mortality of colorectal cancer, as well as high cholesterol levels, increases. Age‐related accumulation of cholesterol accelerates CRC progression in humans by reducing SQLE, inhibiting GSK3β, and suppressing the p53 pathway, thereby providing valuable biomarkers for populations at high risk of CRC.

Harnessing antimicrobial peptides in endodontics

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, Volume 57, Issue 7, Page 815-840, July 2024.
Abstract Endodontic therapy includes various procedures such as vital pulp therapy, root canal treatment and retreatment, surgical endodontic treatment and regenerative endodontic procedures. Disinfection and tissue repair are crucial for the success of these therapies, necessitating the development of therapeutics that can effectively target ...
