Ultrasound‐Activated Nanoinhibitors Blocking the Chemo‐Immune Checkpoint to Overcome Chemotherapy‐Induced Immune Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A sono‐responsive chemo‐immune checkpoint nanoinhibitor (Sono‐TT8) co‐delivering TPZ chemotherapy and siXkr8 simultaneously kills tumor cells and blocks PS externalization, reversing chemotherapy‐induced immunosuppression and enhancing antitumor immunity. ABSTRACT Breast cancer features an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment following chemotherapy

Multifunctional Zinc Glycyrrhizinate‐Integrated Gel for Enhanced Probiotic Delivery and Alleviation of Acute and Spontaneous Colitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multifunctional oral delivery system—L. reuteri@ZGM—act as both a carrier and therapeutic adjuvant, providing ROS scavenging, and mucin‐interactive properties tailored to the IBD microenvironment. This bioactive gel safeguards L. reuteri from gastric degradation, enhances mucosal adhesion, and promotes long‐term retention at inflamed sites, thereby ...

Induction of mucin expression by estrogen and lipopolysaccharide in the lower oviductal segments in hens.

open access: yes, 2013
Mucins play an essential role as mucosal barrier to prevent invasion of pathogens in the oviductal tissue of hens. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of estradiol and lipopolysaccharide (LPS) on the mucin expression in the lower oviductal ...

Boundary Lubrication by Associative Mucin

open access: yes, 2015
Mucus lubricants are widely distributed in living organisms. Such lubricants consist of a gel structure constructed by associative mucin. However, limited tribological studies exist on associative mucin fluids.

Adhesion‐Enhanced Engineered Probiotic for Prolonged Intestinal Retention and Calprotectin‐Responsive IBD Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An intelligent engineered probiotic platform is developed for the precision management of inflammatory bowel disease. By integrating surface‐displayed adhesins with an inflammation‐responsive CAT‐SOD‐GPx tripartite fusion system and mucosal repair factors, this programmable system achieves prolonged intestinal retention and multi‐pronged therapy.

Impact of Postoperative Infectious Complications on Long‐Term Survival After Curative Resection for Colorectal Cancer: A Multicenter Study in the Minimally Invasive Era

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
Postoperative infectious complications (PICs) have been associated with poor long‐term outcomes after colorectal cancer surgery, but evidence in the modern minimally invasive era remains limited. In this multicenter cohort of 5377 patients undergoing curative resection, PICs were independently associated with worse overall survival and relapse‐free ...

Biological Resectability in Colorectal Liver Metastases: A Nomogram‐Based Continuous Risk Model to Define Borderline Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
KRAS mutation demonstrated a prognostic impact according to primary tumor sidedness, independent of tumor morphology, in patients undergoing hepatectomy for colorectal liver metastases. A nomogram integrating biological and clinicopathological factors was developed to provide continuous biological risk assessment.

Gut microbiota–derived short‐chain fatty acids regulate group 3 innate lymphoid cells in HCC

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Abstract Background and Aims Type 3 innate lymphoid cells (ILC3s) are essential for host defense against infection and tissue homeostasis. However, their role in the development of HCC has not been adequately confirmed. In this study, we investigated the immunomodulatory role of short‐chain fatty acids (SCFAs) derived from intestinal microbiota in ILC3

Functional Specialization of Respiratory and Olfactory Mucus Revealed by Proteomic Profiling

open access: yesInternational Forum of Allergy &Rhinology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Mucus overlies the nasal mucosa in the respiratory and olfactory regions, which perform distinct physiological functions. However, proteomic differences between respiratory mucosa (RM) and olfactory cleft (OC) mucus remain unclear.

Phase Ib study of anlotinib combined with TQB2450 in pretreated advanced biliary tract cancer and biomarker analysis

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Phase 1b study of anlotinib combined with TQB2450 in pretreated advanced biliary tract cancer and biomarker analysis. Abstract Background and Aims We evaluated the efficacy and safety of the antiangiogenic tyrosine kinase inhibitor anlotinib plus TQB2450, a programmed death‐ligand 1 inhibitor in pretreated advanced biliary tract cancers (BTCs ...
