TRAIP Mediates Alcohol‐Induced Liver Injury through Regulating β‐catenin Ubiquitin Degradation via Direct Interaction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that NF‐κB1‐driven TRAIP upregulation in ALD correlates with disease severity. Mechanistically, TRAIP directly binds β‐catenin via its CC domain and promotes its K48‐linked ubiquitination and degradation, which is independent of the GSK3β/β‐TrCP pathway.

Unexpected pathological lesions of appendix: an analysis of 3000 surgical specimens from Sri Lanka

open access: yesSri Lanka Journal of Medicine, 2016
Background: Unexpected pathological lesions are not infrequent findings in surgical specimens of appendix. Appendiceal malignancies are commonly encountered as incidental lesions.

Single‐Cell Transcriptomic Analysis of Tumor Heterogeneity and the Microenvironment in Pseudomyxoma Peritonei

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a single‐cell atlas of pseudomyxoma peritonei spanning primary and paired metastatic lesions. Distinct epithelial substates, stromal remodeling, immune exclusion, lipid metabolic reprogramming, and a candidate angiogenic network were identified in metastatic lesions.

Recurrent chest infections in two young non-smoker men [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Pulmonary mucinous cystic carcinomas are rare salivary gland type carcinomas of the lung. They form part of a wide spectrum of mucin secreting glandular mixed type tumours. They comprise 0.1 – 0.2% of all lung tumours. They occur more frequently in young

Mitochondrial SLC25A46 Rewires Fatty Acid Oxidation to Promote Cell Proliferation and Ferroptosis Evasion in Ovarian Cancer by Stabilizing CACT

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial SLC25A46 is upregulated in ovarian cancer (OC) and correlates with poor prognosis. SLC25A46 stabilizes CACT to activate fatty acid oxidation, increasing ATP and NADPH production to drive cell proliferation and ferroptosis evasion. SLC25A46 silencing sensitizes OC cells to ferroptosis and carboplatin, offering a promising therapeutic ...

Nanomaterials for Allergy Diagnosis and Treatment: Advances, Opportunities and Translational Challenges

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nanomaterials offer dual applications in allergy management. For diagnosis, nanomaterials enhance analytical sensitivity and improve detection in specific IgE and functional assays such as the basophil activation test (BAT). For allergen‐specific immunotherapy, nanomaterials enable allergen masking and controlled release, and effectively modulate the ...

Mucinous Neoplasms of the Appendix and Peritoneum

open access: yes, 2011
Context.—Appendiceal mucinous neoplasms are considered enigmatic tumors of unpredictable biologic potential. Their importance lies in their potential to spread to the peritoneum and viscera in the form of gelatinous mucin deposits.

Treatment of peritoneal disease arising from mucinous vs. non-mucinous appendiceal neoplasms with cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy

open access: yesPleura and Peritoneum
Non-mucinous appendiceal neoplasms (NMAN) are rare. The role of cytoreductive surgery (CRS) and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) in treating peritoneal dissemination from NMAN is poorly defined.

Cystic Neoplasms of the Pancreas: Differential Diagnosis and Radiology Correlation

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2022
Although the probability of pancreatic cystic neoplasms (PCNs) being detected is raising year by year, their differential diagnosis and individualized treatment are still a challenge in clinical work.

Targeting GALNT7 Disrupts the TAZ O‐GalNAcylation Feedback Loop to Suppress Gallbladder Cancer Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Aberrant GALNT7‐mediated O‐GalNAcylation stabilizes TAZ to drive gallbladder cancer progression through a feed‐forward transcriptional loop. Structure‐based screening identifies Olaparib as a potent GALNT7 antagonist that disrupts this oncogenic axis, providing an immediate therapeutic strategy for this aggressive malignancy.
