Low-grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasm presenting as appendiceal intussusception in a 16 year old male

open access: yesJournal of Pediatric Surgery Case Reports, 2020
Appendiceal mucinous neoplasms are rare in pediatric patients. We report a case of a 16-year old male who presented with abdominal pain with concern for appendiceal mucocele.

Cobalt Single‐Atom Nanozyme for Enhanced Intestinal Radioprotection and Tumor Radiosensitization via Bidirectional ROS Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Orally administered, pH‐responsive Co‐SAN exerts dual functions: in the alkaline intestinal milieu, it scavenges reactive oxygen species (ROS) and suppresses the PI3K/AKT pathway and NETs formation, thus providing radioprotection; whereas in the acidic tumor microenvironment, it generates ROS and alleviates hypoxia, thereby enhancing radiosensitization.

Pancreaticobiliary metastasis presenting as primary mucinous ovarian neoplasm: A systematic literature review

open access: yesGynecologic Oncology Reports, 2019
True primary mucinous ovarian carcinomas are rarer than originally thought and their clinical behavior and treatment response are different than more common epithelial ovarian carcinomas.

Targeted β‐Glucan‐Veiled Oral Apremilast Nanotherapy Modulates Key Dysbiosis‐Associated Gut Microbiota and Alleviates Ulcerative Colitis‐Associated Anxiety, Depression, and Neuropsychiatric Behaviors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces β‐glucan‐shielded apremilast laden nanomicelles that withstand gastrointestinal degradation, selectively accumulate in inflamed colon tissue, and modulate the microbiota–gut–brain axis. The formulation restores barrier integrity, reduces systemic and neuroinflammation, and improves anxiety‐ and depression‐like behaviors in colitis

Invasive mucinous cystic neoplasms of the pancreas.

open access: yes, 2012
Mucinous cystic neoplasms (MCN) and intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMN) of the pancreas both appear to have been included and intermixed in some early reports of pancreatic cystic neoplasms.

Clinico-Immunohistochemical Analysis of Ovarian Tumors in a South Indian Population: A Single-Center Study [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Basic Research, 2022
Background and objectives: In India, ovarian tumors are the fifth leading cause of death in women. They account for 6% of all cancers in women. The present study aimed to provide support for a new theory of ovarian carcinogenesis by investigating the ...

Deep Learning Prediction of O‐Glycopeptide Tandem Mass Spectra Enhances O‐Glycoproteomics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
DeepGPO integrates Transformer and graph neural networks with tailored training strategies, including data augmentation, loss re‐weighting, and pre‐training, to achieve high‐quality O‐glycopeptide MS/MS spectra prediction. The predicted MS/MS spectra are used to localize O‐glycosylation sites from HCD MS/MS data, enhancing O‐glycoproteomics analysis ...

Survival outcomes of appendiceal mucinous neoplasms by histological type and stage: Analysis of 266 cases in a multicenter collaborative retrospective clinical study

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, 2019
Aim Appendiceal mucinous neoplasms are rare, and thus the literature is sparse with regard to histological types, staging, and prognosis. In particular, it is unclear how long‐term outcome may differ between mucinous adenocarcinomas and other ...

Multiple intestinal hemangioma concurrent with low-grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasm presenting as intussusception—a case report and literature review

open access: yesWorld Journal of Surgical Oncology, 2022
Background Cases with intussusception caused by either intestinal hemangiomas or appendiceal mucinous neoplasms are extremely rare. Case presentation In this study, we reported a 47-year-old male presented with paroxysmal abdominal pain and postprandial ...

Intelligent Programmable Membrane Nanosponge for Early Virus Blocking

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A smart programmable nanosponge (ACNPs) displays high‐density viral receptors on its membrane and encapsulates fusion inhibitors to capture virions at the infection source through competitive binding and blocks their entry through protease inhibition for ultra‐early cascade interception. This modular, mucus‐penetrating platform shifts antiviral defence
