This is a clinicopathologic study of six patients with mucinous syringometaplasia, which was diagnosed histologically. Biopsies revealed a focal invagination of the epidermis lined by squamous epithelium, with one or several eccrine ducts leading into the vagination. The eccrine duct epithelium contained mucin-laden goblet cells, and there was mucinous

Mucin Purification and Printing Natural Mucin Microarrays
2022Mucin glycosylation is the key facilitator of microbial attachment and nutrition and it varies according to biological location, health and disease status, microbiome composition, infection, and multiple other factors. Mucin glycans have also been reported to attenuate pathogen virulence and mediate biofilm dispersal.

AbstractA 15‐year‐old boy first noticed multiple firm papules on his right upper chest two years before presenting to our clinic. These papules were densely distributed and showed epidermal nevus‐like linear arrangement at some sites. The number, size, and distribution of these papules remained unchanged for one year of our observation.

Distinguishing Benign Dissecting Mucin (Stromal Mucin Pools) From Invasive Mucinous Carcinoma
Advances in Anatomic Pathology, 2008Mucin dissecting stroma suggests the presence of an invasive mucinous (colloid) carcinoma. However, in virtually every organ in which invasive mucinous carcinoma exists, there exist benign mimickers associated with dissecting mucin. This article reviews diagnostic criteria for the differential diagnosis of mucinous lesions of the breast, pancreas ...
