A new perspective on cancer treatment: the interaction and application prospect between ICIs and radiotherapy

open access: yesPrecision Radiation Oncology, EarlyView.
The combination of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) and radiotherapy synergistically enhances efficacy through an “antigen release‐immune activation” closed‐loop mechanism, significantly improving outcomes in solid tumors (e.g., lung cancer, melanoma).

Advances in mucosal injury mechanisms in radiation‐induced esophagitis associated with thoracic radiotherapy

open access: yesPrecision Radiation Oncology, EarlyView.
There is no specific therapeutic drug regimen for radiation esophagitis. In previous studies, radiation esophagitis was considered a self‐limiting disease; however, current clinical approaches are limited to symptomatic treatment, which yields unsatisfactory therapeutic outcomes.

Skeletal muscle status and malnutrition as predictors of short‐term radiotherapy response and oral mucositis in head and neck cancer

open access: yesPrecision Radiation Oncology, EarlyView.
Baseline muscle mass and malnutrition were not decisive for short‐term radiotherapy outcomes in advanced head‐and‐neck cancer, yet diminished hand‐grip strength signaled poorer tumor response. This suggests that functional muscle metrics may serve as an accessible, actionable biomarker warranting validation in larger longitudinal cohorts.

Effect of Oral Zinc Sulphate in Preventionof Radiation Induced OropharyngealMucositis During and After Radiotherapyin Patients with Head and Neck Cancers

open access: yesMiddle East Journal of Cancer, 2010
Introduction:Mucositis is a disturbing side effect of radiotherapy treatment forhead and neck cancer. To date, no effective modality for its prophylaxis and treatmenthas been found. We performed this study to evaluate the efficacy of oral zincsulphate in

Profiling of Pro-Inflammatory Cytokines in Radiation Induced Oral Mucositis (RIOM) among Indian patients

open access: yes
t: Radiation-induced oral mucositis (RIOM) is aimed at evaluating the expression of NF-κβ, IL-1α, IL-6, IL-8 and TNF-α in patients with RIOM so as to validate their role in the pathobiology of the disease. Blood samples were collected

A new perspective on radiotherapy in the comprehensive treatment of cancer

open access: yesPrecision Radiation Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy remains a key component in the comprehensive management of cancer. Its effectiveness is significantly improved through strategic combinations with chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy, providing a range of therapeutic outcomes from cure to palliative care.
