A complex network perspective on brain disease

open access: yesBiological Reviews, Volume 101, Issue 1, Page 364-399, February 2026.
ABSTRACT If brain anatomy and dynamics have a complex network structure as it has become standard to posit, it is reasonable to assume that such a structure should play a key role not only in brain function but also in brain dysfunction. However, exactly how network structure is implicated in brain damage and whether at least some pathologies can be ...

Remittances and the Labor Supply Choices of Recipient Households: Insights From Meta‐Regression Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Economic Surveys, Volume 40, Issue 1, Page 469-491, February 2026.
ABSTRACT This meta‐analysis investigates the impact of remittances on labor supply decisions in recipient households. Using 1811 estimates from 64 studies, we find that international remittances reduce labor force participation by 4.4 percentage points while domestic remittances reduce it by 2.2 percentage points.

Distributive Cycles and Earnings Inequality: A Kaleckian Goodwinian‐Inspired Model

open access: yesMetroeconomica, Volume 77, Issue 1, Page 17-35, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Rising wage inequality since the 1980s is well‐documented, but cyclical dynamics are less explored. This study builds a Kaleckian model analyzing the link between aggregate demand (mediated by employment) and earnings inequality. The model features three classes: capitalists, production, and professional workers.

The Use of Behavioral Reconsolidation Interference in Depressive Disorders. A Double‐Blinded Randomized Controlled Experimental Registered Report

open access: yesPsychophysiology, Volume 63, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Depressive disorders often show recurrent courses that cannot be sufficiently prevented by existing therapeutic protocols. In other affective disorders, recurrence has been linked to three mechanisms –spontaneous recovery, accelerated new/relearning, and reinstatement– which are related to the preservation of disorder‐related memory traces ...
