Stokes-Mueller matrix polarimetry system for glucose sensing

Optics and Lasers in Engineering, 2017
Abstract A Stokes-Mueller matrix polarimetry system consisting of a polarization scanning generator (PSG) and a high-accuracy Stokes polarimeter is used to sense the glucose concentration in aqueous solutions with and without scattering effects, respectively.

Model for the depolarizing retarder in Mueller matrix polarimetry

Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2022
We advance an analytical model describing the polarimetric response of a depolarizing retarder whose retardance varies spatially in magnitude or in orientation. The variation of the retarder parameters may be either of deterministic or of random nature. The model provides both the mean values and the uncertainties of the parameters.

Determination of Mueller Matrix for Metal Substrates by Stokes Polarimetry

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2021
This article focuses on a polarization measurement method based on Mueller calculus for determining the polarization properties of metal substrates. As the Mueller matrix of a medium provides all its polarization-altering properties, the presented method enables to predict the effect of any optically absorbing media on the polarization state of light ...
