Channeled partial Mueller matrix polarimetry
SPIE Proceedings, 2015In prior work,1,2 we introduced methods to treat channeled systems in a way that is similar to Data Reduction Method (DRM), by focusing attention on the Fourier content of the measurement conditions. Introduction of Q enabled us to more readily extract the performance of the system and thereby optimize it to obtain reconstruction with the least noise ...

Terahertz Mueller Matrix Polarimetry and Polar Decomposition
IEEE Transactions on Terahertz Science and Technology, 2020Mueller matrix imaging, as one of the polarimetric imaging modalities, is an effective tool to achieve imaging enhancement as well as explore fine details of the imaged sample at microwave and optical frequencies. However, little work has been reported at terahertz (THz) frequencies, which could provide an exclusive insight in exploring fine details of

Mueller matrix imaging polarimetry
Optical Engineering, 1995The design and operation of a Mueller matrix imaging polarimeter is presented. The instrument is configurable to make a wide variety of polarimetric measurements of optical systems and samples. In one configuration, it measures the polarization properties of a set of ray paths through a sample.

Stokes-Mueller matrix polarimetry system for glucose sensing
Optics and Lasers in Engineering, 2017Abstract A Stokes-Mueller matrix polarimetry system consisting of a polarization scanning generator (PSG) and a high-accuracy Stokes polarimeter is used to sense the glucose concentration in aqueous solutions with and without scattering effects, respectively.

Stokes-vector and Mueller-matrix polarimetry [Invited]
Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2016This paper reviews the current status of instruments for measuring the full 4×1 Stokes vector S, which describes the state of polarization (SOP) of totally or partially polarized light, and the 4×4 Mueller matrix M, which determines how the SOP is transformed as light interacts with a material sample or an optical element or system.

Stroboscopic illumination Mueller matrix Imaging Polarimetry
Frontiers in Optics 2009/Laser Science XXV/Fall 2009 OSA Optics & Photonics Technical Digest, 2009Utilizing stroboscopic illumination technique, we present a Mueller matrix imaging polarimetry with Photoelastic modulator. The figure of merit of this methodology will be discussed, and its results will be compared with others.

Mueller matrix imaging polarimetry - for tissue imaging
2015 International Conference on Industrial Instrumentation and Control (ICIC), 2015Polarimetric Imaging is an emerging technique that uses polarized light to probe the physical and physiological properties of tissues. Polarization Ellipsometric techniques are utilized to understand the variation of polarization properties of light through sample tissue.

Mueller matrix polarimetry on a Young’s double-slit experiment analog
Optics Letters, 2017In this Letter we describe an experiment in which coherent light is sent through a calcite crystal that separates the photons by their polarization. The two beams are then let to superpose, and this recombined beam is used to measure the Mueller matrix of the system. Results are interpreted according to our recent formalism of coherent superposition in

Combined Stokes Vector and Mueller Matrix Polarimetry for Materials Characterization
Analytical Chemistry, 2013A robust way of measuring the optical properties of any material is to interrogate it with light of different polarizations. The 16-element Mueller matrix provides the most complete description of the optical properties of a sample based on its ability to alter the polarization state of transmitted or reflected light.

Enhancement of confocal microscopy images using Mueller‐matrix polarimetry
Journal of Microscopy, 2009SummaryA simplified procedure based on Mueller‐matrix polarimetry has recently been reported as a method of retinal image improvement in a confocal ophthalmoscope [J. M. Bueno et al., J. Opt. Soc. Am. A 24, 1337 (2007)]. Here, we have applied the technique to imaging static samples providing well‐defined reflection properties.
