Mueller matrix polarimetry with four photoelastic modulators: theory and calibration

Applied Optics, 2012
A spectroscopic Mueller matrix polarimeter with four photoelastic modulators (PEMs) and no moving parts is introduced. In the 4-PEM polarimeter, all the elements of the Mueller matrix are simultaneously determined from the analysis of the frequencies of the time-dependent intensity of the light beam.

Mueller matrix polarimetry with multi-purpose polarization transducer

SPIE Proceedings, 2005
The analysis of Mueller matrix measurement errors, total and for each of the matrix elements, for time-sequential Mueller polarimeter in the case of utilizing different types of Stokes polarimeters in receiving channel are carried out. The consideration concerns of two types of Stokes polarimeters: polarimeter based on four angular orientations of ...

Depolarization effect of bandwidth in Mueller matrix imaging polarimetry

Classical Optics 2014, 2014
Obvious depolarization effect of bandwidth is observed in Mueller matrix imaging polarimetry (MMIP) with a dual-rotating compensator configuration. A method is proposed to correct the effect and to improve the measurement accuracy.

Sensitivity analysis for nanostructure metrology by Mueller matrix polarimetry

Advances in Optoelectronics and Micro/nano-optics, 2010
This paper presents the modeling and simulation of Mueller matrix polarimetry for nanostructure metrology, with an emphasis on the sensitivity analysis. Taking a two-dimensional grating as an example, the modeling method using the rigorous coupled-wave analysis theory has been described.

Hyperspectroscopic Mueller-matrix polarimeter based on channeled polarimetry

Polarization Science and Remote Sensing VIII, 2017
This paper describes hyperspectroscopic Mueller-matrix polarimeters based on channeled polarimetry. The channeled polarimetry is a method for measuring polarimetric parameters using a cosinusoidally-modulated spectrum. We previously reported on a snapshot spectroscopic Mueller-matrix polarimeter based on channeled polarimetry.

Assessment of skin fibrosis using Mueller matrix polarimetry

2018 3rd International Conference on Microwave and Photonics (ICMAP), 2018
Of late, Mueller polarimetry has been investigated as an effective technique for analyzing the tissue optical properties, leading to the differentiation of its normal and malignant variations. Depolarization index, a parameter derived from this technique has been observed to be strongly associated with the scattering properties of the tissue.
