Genetic algorithm optimization for AGC of multi-area power systems

A genetic algorithm (GA) for parameter optimization of PID sliding mode load frequency control used in automatic generating control (AGC) of multiarea power systems with nonlinear elements has been proposed. The method has the advantages of both PID and sliding mode control.
