35 Core Polarization-Maintaining Multi-core Fiber for High Power Operation [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
This work presents a novel rod-type 35 core multi-core fiber design that is capable of overcoming the inherent lack of polarization maintenance in such structures. A polarization extinction ratio of 10.5dB is achieved.

2D and 3D Shape Sensing Based on 7-Core Fiber Bragg Gratings

open access: yesPhotonic Sensors, 2020
A fiber-optic shape sensing based on 7-core fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The investigations are presented for two-dimensional and three-dimensional shape reconstruction by distinguishing bending and twisting of

Multiparameter sensor based on micro/nano-structured optical fiber and composites

open access: yesHeliyon, 2022
In this paper, an optical fiber sensor is realized with multi-parameter measurement, including magnetic field, temperature and displacement. Then, the implementation of the three-parameter independent measurement was performed.

Orientation-Dependent Displacement Sensor Using an Inner Cladding Fiber Bragg Grating

open access: yesSensors, 2016
An orientation-dependent displacement sensor based on grating inscription over a fiber core and inner cladding has been demonstrated. The device comprises a short piece of multi-cladding fiber sandwiched between two standard single-mode fibers (SMFs ...

Modulation formats for multi-core fiber transmission

open access: yesOptics Express, 2004
We investigate high dimensional modulation formats for multi-core fibers (MCFs) and spatial superchannels. We show that the low skew variations between MCF cores maybe exploited to generate 'multi-core' formats that offer significant advantages over independently transmitting conventional 4-dimensional formats in each core.

The Effect of Fiber Types Used as Core/Wrapper Fibers in Multi-component Yarns on the Stretch Properties of Denim Fabrics

open access: yesJournal of Natural Fibers, 2022
Denim fabrics are one of the important research fields in the textile industry. Super stretch denim fabrics that have more than 30% elasticity are among the hottest trends in denim fabrics recently. The entire process chain, from raw material to finished

Design and Optimization of a Single-Mode Multi-Core Photonic Crystal Fiber With the Nanorod Assisted Structure to Suppress the Crosstalk

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2021
We propose and design a novel homogeneous nanorod-assisted multi-core photonic crystal fiber (NA-PCF), and it utilizes the flexibility of photonic crystal fiber (PCF) for air-hole design, NA-PCF applied to multi-core fiber (MCF) communication system ...

Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.
